Sure. Call up squaretrade, tell them you already broke your phone and you want to buy a warranty to cover it. Let me know how that works out for you.Get off your high-horse. A warranty is bought to be used when your item breaks - why else would you have a warranty, to cover the item if you break it. In this situation, people have an option of buying the warranty before or after it breaks. It is illogical and a waste to buy a warranty, when you have a choice, if you don't need it. However, when you do need it - you can purchase it.
Squaretrade is getting $200 to fix my screen - same price Apple is charging.
You know you can cancel the warranty? So you could buy it, submit the claim, then just cancel the warranty and get a refund for most of what you paid for coverage. So it would cost less than $200.
Squaretrade sometimes used non-OEM parts.
They also don't cover damage that's only cosmetic or "which does not affect the functionality of the covered product". So I don't think it would work.
You also need to have 90 days left on your Apple warranty to buy the "I dropped my phone" coverage.
Again, I say go for it. Buy the warranty and let us know how it works out for you.
