There seem to be a lot of stock last year and expect the same this year. I picked a 6 up on release day while on holiday in Canada by just walking up to the square one store in Mississigua giving my name and cell number to a woman with a clipboard outside the store got a text back in two minutes with a reference number. Waited in a short line for just over an hour and that was that. I was buying full price and if many in the line had not been buying on contract that line would have moved much faster.

I was out of the country last year when 6 launched and got back in on the 18th UK.
I manged to reserve a 6 on the 25th October.
But due it being a new phone and demand was high stock didnt come in till November.
This year i think apple have nailed the manufacturing and should be plenty stock. I think 6+ was hardest to get hold of at first. This year might pre order online and get it on launch. Dont fancy quieing up.

Same here, that was an awful approach that not only turned away customers but irritated them. As a retailer that's the one thing you want to avoid - turning customers away.
If you want the 128gb you aren't going to get $0 down.. It's probably going to be about $200 down + tax
(unless there is some $0 down promotion T-Mobile is running I'm not aware of for any size iPhone)
