What features/specs would your perfect iPhone have?

I'll start:

4.0" display (iPhone SE size)
2nd Gen Touch ID
3D Touch
NFC
Dual lens camera
Matte black

iPhone 7 internals and form factor, w/a full display (no bezels) and add IP68 rating for water resistance. Also add wireless charging and a headphone jack.

That would be it for me.

So?
5.8" OLED
force touch. Btw I can touch all four sides for action, not just one.
4GB of RAM.
Quad core processor.
256GB storage or 512GB
Headphone jack.
Guess no one except me would want it.

Ah…I thought when you mentioned specs you were more referring to how the phone looks and it's size, rather than internals.

This (iPhone SE)…

In iPhone Plus or larger size. Matte black of course.

As long as the internals allow me to email, text, take decent pictures, make phone calls and browse the internet then I'm good. I don't need bleeding edge internals.

iPhone 7 with a little more open operating system. And AMOLED display.

Well, for me it would simply be the Iphone 7 just as it is, or, the SE with minimal bezels and all of the features of the Iphone 7.

Assuming current technology:

current iPhone SE (and similar price) with:

- wide colour display and image capture
- 3D Touch for full iOS features
- some form of water resistance
- A10 for extra longevity

I'd be delighted with that. The main feature for me is maintaining the SE width. I love that phone.

Here is my list :-
6.9 mm thickness
Headphone jack :)
5.8 inch OLED Display with minimal bezels
4 GB Ram
Stereo speakers
iP68 water resistant
Product RED color with black front :D

I don't care about specs. Just wish it was possible to get an iPhone that doesn't have a loose home button, clicky screen, screen that isn't uniform, rattling buttons, etc. Never had an iPhone that didn't exhibit one of these issues in 10 years (and having gone through >10 iPhones).

I would honestly like a proper functioning iPhone on the first shot once... My ihone 6s had a LCD defect and I had to get it exchanged, lucky that I realized it had that because it did not appear immediately, it showed up two days after the purchase. On my brand new 7+ I have some kind of camera defect where portrait mode doesn't work and as I am in a country with no Apple Store I cannot do anything now. I have to wait for months until me or someone travels.
So yes, in a nutshell, I need an iPhone that freaking works on the first shot. Last time I was lucky that I could figure that out, but now someone brought it for me and he has no idea about iPhones so as the screen turned on he assumed it worked. It doesn't (not properly at least, and I cannot do anything)

5" OLED display, a bit smaller than the iPhone 7, better camera (larger camera sensor, larger aperture, larger pixels, faster autofocus), faster charging, and most importantly, a blue iPod touch-like color.

Oh and to change a bit from complaining, faster charging as many have said would be nice. It is currently a bit slow and the technology is there on other brands, so I am sure it would be possible for Apple to implement it.

My dream iPhone:
  • iPhone 7 Plus form factor.
  • 7 inch wrap-around 4K AMOLED display with DCI-P3, True Tone, 3D Touch and Touch ID.
  • 7 Plus camera + 3D camera.
  • All day battery life (24 hours).
  • Fast charging via USB-C.
  • Long distance wireless charging.
  • Bluetooth 5.0.
  • Quad stereo speakers.
  • IP69K rating.
  • Quad-Core A series chip.
  • AR and VR capabilities.
  • 6 mm thin.
  • Smart Connector for accessories.
  • Dual Boot iOS and macOS (With a dock connected to a monitor).
  • Indestructible.
  • Cheap (Less than $1000).

Same size as my iPhone 6.
More storage,would like a 256Gb SSD.
Better camera with optical zoom and at least 25 mpix resolution.
About 15 hours more of battery time.

Ok,I know, some of you might disagree, but this is what I could have use for.

Perfect phone is more about the software than hardware for me. That said.

iPhone 7 Plus, along with wireless charging

iPhone 5 design, but with smaller bezels and thus larger screen.
7 or better internals.
USB-C.
IP68.
Touch ID 2.
A new Music app, or just the old one.
Better low light camera.

7 plus with no bezels so it's actually similar in size to an iPhone 7 but has that bigger screen.
Double ram to 6gb
Same price as the current 7 plus.

I'd love an updated iPhone 5C or SE but unfortunately I don't think Apple will produce another small phone.

If Apple copy the body of the Galaxy S8, fix up the ergonomics for the Touch ID and put iOS on there it might be OK.

A Galaxy S8 that that run iOS, A10 chip, same 4 GB of ram, 3D Touch, and Apple's integrated Touch ID sensor in the display. That would be it for me!
