Ohh, which stethoscope are you getting? I recommend the Cardiology III (it is best value for its versitility). I would stay away from the single tube stethoscopes if he's doing anything more than taking blood pressures. If he is really into auscultation (i.e. going into cardiology) then I would suggest a shorter (22 inch) tube vs. a longer tube (27 inch) which is more comfortable for general or surgical use.

The only reason I offer this advice is because I got a stethoscope as a graduation present but had to go buy another because it wasn't a good enough quality for really investigating heart sounds.
My wife's a nurse so she bought it. She picked one that was good for an EMT (he been doing it for a few months). That's all I know, sorry.

Ah, I forgot the presents that we buy for ourselves. Been spoiling myself rotten since the beginning of November; won't post a list of purchases made and planned, though. It's just too embarrassing.

If you are giving them away I'd like one :)

Offer only open to those who attend the annual London MR picnics. ;)

Today, I've given myself some new knitwear, and I'll have a parcel from Amazon to unwrap on Xmas day with half-a-dozen CDs in it. Might go and treat myself to Twin Peaks: Season 2 DVDs as well. On Xmas day, I'll give my mum a long phone call to NZ.

Mom - Not sure yet. She's tricky to buy for.

Dad - I want to get him a new tennis racquet, but I'll have to talk about that with my mom.

Sister - She's obsessed with Vera Bradley, so maybe something from there.

Grandma - She loves when I play piano for her, but I only see her once a week when she comes over for dinner. So I'm recording a bunch of songs in GarageBand and then making a CD. She's heard almost all of them, but it'll still be nice. And she hasn't heard me play Moonlight Sonata so I'll put that on there too.

Congrats ;)

I am getting my fiance an iPhone, I just figured out today that he got me 4GB of RAM for my new Macbook. Yes, its a match made in heaven! Nerds, ah...

What am I getting my parents? Well, they haven't paid a dime for my college yet, so technically I am getting them each about $7,000 cash :) At least thats what I tell them to get them off my back.

LOL That's funny. I should tell my parents that. In that case Mom = $20k Dad = $20k. Merry Christmas, I hope they buy me a bike!

hahaha

$$$ to local food pantry, they usually spend it in the village general store to buy perishable items such as milk, butter, eggs so it benefits the local economy as well as recipients of the foodstuffs.

video nano to a nephew

new frisbees to neighboring farmers' herd dogs

cozy fleece wrap for my sister

recipe for clam chowder for an admirer of it last summer

(way behind on rest of the list, eeeeeeeeeek!)

I'm getting my dad a digital scale for Christmas because he has really started to get into a good workout routine and likes to weigh himself frequently. I'm getting my brother a Wii Zapper (of course it helps that I also wanted one :p ). For my grandparents, I'm getting them gift cards to various restaurants. I'm not sure what to get my mom, though. Any suggestions for a good "mom" gift?

Getting my wife the Nintendo DS lite and a selection of games, plus a £100 Amazon voucher.
