This!

How something so simple can sound this awesome? My cat can learn to play guitar part. And, I am melting when that key change comes in. :)

I lost count on how many times I played this yesterday and today.

Sure do miss the type of music from that era, even though its way before my time. Timeless.

Today's discovery:

Anouar Brahem — Blue Maqams

Contemporary Oud from Tunisia fuses with Jazz, I guess you could say? This album a collaboration with Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and Django Bates.

Felt like I needed some Prog Rock, with an emphasis on the Rock. So, Kansas' "Drastic Measures" it was!

Thanks to a recommendation from @mobilehaathi, I ordered this CD a few weeks ago, and it arrived (and I listened to it) shortly before my current deployment.

A small world. :)
Good luck with your current deployment. Hopefully not too much of a war torn or desperate part of the globe this time.

No. Not really.

Well, I suppose that depends on one's perspective, both political and geographical.

But, no: I have observed the first round of an election that I would deem (in terms of the actual voting procedure and process) rather impressive. Actually, the level of access I was granted was exemplary, - and very transparent - and I would adjudge the actual process (that is not commenting on the outcome, which is a different matter) to have been pretty meticulous.

However, it is entirely possible that I shall be asked to return to observe the second round (as no candidate achieved an outright majority in the first round) over the coming weeks.

Pure nostalgia for me… at the moment.

Talk Talk, Colour of Spring

And on repeat, Time It's Time… encapsulated my life at university studying Architecture. Late nights in the studio, drinking too much. Smoking too much… high waisted trousers. Big hair. :)

Them were the days.

The past is a different country, isn't it? Too bad (at times, at the times, I would never wish to re-visit it) that re-entry is barred to us, except in myth, and (occasionally lingering, fond) memory.

Today was a Tim McGraw day. I like him and his music, just like I liked his dad's baseball playing!

I really like this new one. Good song and a good video.
