Friday night, jazz exploration for me. Up first tonight, New York jazz pianist Theo Hill with Yasushi Nakamura on bass and drummer Mark Whitfield, Jr., some tracks from the 2017 album Promethean. Below is Hill's expansive development of This Here, a work by the late soul jazz composer Bobby Timmons (studio album, audio only):

Some Bob Seger tonight. A friend once told me that only middle aged folks listen to Seger. Currently I find myself, at the same time outraged at, and in agreement with that statement.

I can't get your link to play (in the US or where i am in it anyway, it's blocked)

But here it is from the Silver Bullet album

What a find. With a cover like that, hard to resist the track Sorry About the Carpet. As it turns out, I like that one and a lot of the rest as well. Deceptively lighthearted melodies considering some of the ground gets covered there.
I recently discovered Agar Agar from a song on another album that was included in a Synthwave Apple Music playlist. This album is slightly darker than the one I posted yesterday, but I quite enjoy it too. The song I first heard is 'I'm that guy'.

Some excellent tracks.

It almost reads like a soundtrack for Deutschland 83, or Deutschland 86.

Wow, I was just listening to Die Toten Hosen.

Better! London calling would be my choice on that list.

Joe Strummer is one of my favorites....Mondo Bongo and Burnin’ Streets in particular.

Some film scores for me this afternoon. Taxi Driver's soundtrack is great heard juxtaposed to Miles Davis' work in Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (Lift to the Scaffold). I can only watch either of those films in broad daylight and it's possible I've only chosen to hear their soundtracks before nightfall as well.

I love this song.

I am not a fan of this version though.

I know, I have no soul.

I didn't get to see the Band but I did see Levon a few times. Fantastic shows.

The Last Of The Mohicans - Promontory (Main Theme).
That was an outstanding album! The entire thing was a true work of art and a masterpiece.

While I like virtually all of Pink Floyd's albums, The Final Cut is quite likely my absolute favourite. Start to finish, it was just a fantastic album and told a great and timely story. Waters was at his best on this one!

You two need to take a chill pill, put down the 70s music (or even the 1770s music) and try expanding your minds with something different and contemporary - from this century... or even the last year! ;)

creative video, don't know a word LOL
