Agree. It was one of the worst in my opinion. Right up there with Moonraker.
But the song redeemed it (just about), or, made you think that it might be worth watching.
As a movie, pretty camp and - well, rather underwhelming.

What a tremendous loss. But oh my goodness, what a voice she possessed!
The Kurt Masur Four Last Songs truly are astonishing. If you have not seen it, the concert with Karajan where she sings Liebestod is mind blowing.
But here is my all time favourite:
