John Coltrane - Coltrane '58: The Prestige Recordings

....relax in a comfortable chair with a glass of your favourite beverage as Friday evening winds down...

Ahh the 70's . . .

Each decade has music and artists that define music culture and Pink Floyd was avant-garde at the time for sure, like "Wish You Were Here" and "Dark Side of the Moon"

And as much as I love Pink Floyd for me it was Supertramp's 2 incredible albums - "Crime of the Century" and "Even in the Quietest Moments" that etched my listening of music and raised my interest back then . . .
Well, ok even now . . .

My apologies. I seem to have forgotten that conversation.

Right now, it's Massive Attack. First,

Rest in peace José José, "el príncipe de la canción". The great Mexican singer of a romantic era has passed away at age 71, having lost a last battle to cancer and prior to that a raft of other illnesses that eventually robbed his ability but not his desire to keep singing. Here is El Amar y el Querer track from the album Reencuentro.

Ahhh, yes. I do indeed remember that one. Sade is such a wonderful performer and I've loved her music for decades.

The first album by Seal that I ever bought - some version of their greatest hits - was purchased in a shady (in every sense of the word) kiosk in Bosnia in 1997, on my first ever election mission which was also my first mission in that country ......a brilliant album.

Great choice.

Wow a scary place to be at that time ? - :(

I was in Israel shortly after "Desert Storm" (just business) and we constantly kept an ear open for "Scud Missile" radio announcements - luckily they were random and inaccurate, But it was Scary Stuff

Seal is such a great artist - I love the track "Crazy" from the previous album - when first heard it I was hooked :)

The Peace Agreement - the Dayton Accords of 1995 - had been signed, which means that the war had come to an end. I was there to observe (and, on that occasion, supervise - we had different mandates for different elections) the first elections held in that country since the war.

Agreed, Crazy is a terrific song.
