poor video - but better audio and - "wow" what a vocal performance and later an amazing guitar solo by Todd Rungren - Feel it 1991 ?

First song has “mike and the mechanics” feel to it
Yeah, the 80's had a pretty good influence on Jim Smith, aka TEEEL. I found this 2-person band today on the latest episode of the Beyond Synth podcast. My favorite track on the album is 'Synth City (feat. Suzanne)' and it has a neat little story behind it as well.

Characters, a 1978 release (ECM) from the late jazz guitarist John Abercrombie (1944-2017) who played electric and acoustic guitar as well as electric mandolin in this album. Layered, but not cluttered, great for background listening or for homing in on his talents. The eight works here were his own compositions. This was Abercrombie's only solo album in a lengthy discography that otherwise featured adventures with a lot of other great jazz leaders and sidemen over the years.
