Talk about going way waaaaaay waaaaaaaay back for this one. Look how young they all look lol.
I saw them about a year after this recording in the UK, supporting Black Sabbath. They were magnificent and blew the BS off stage.
I first heard this one many years after being acquainted with the U2 original. Very different vibe, which I think Pet Shop Boys tend to excel at with their covers.
The lovely Maria McKee. Years ago I saw her when she was with Lone Justice. I was very impressed.

I've been a huge David Byrne/Talking Heads kick lately:
Wow, I missed that, a real legend hope she is doing well these days.
She appeared at the Newport Folk Festival this past weekend. Her first live singing appearance in many years. From the brief clip I saw it was difficult to judge. Her many decade smoking habit has probably done her no favours. Like Neil Young, she had polio as a youth and they both had brain aneurysms. Neil was younger when he had his, in his late 50s or early 60s. I believe he collapsed when walking in Central Park one day.
Chaconne by Robert de Visée (a French lutenist and composer from the Baroque period), played on the theorbo.
