You'll have to let me know what (or rather, who) it is, - and what the track is - as the video is unavailable on my computer.
So weird! Works on my end just fine. Here, try this Spotify link:
https://open.spotify.com/track/5maTy44aOCpD7E6tlO9BHO?si=982962f3640147d5

It's by a Finnish group Frigg, on the album "Perintö." I'm sure it's also available on Apple Music, too.

Totally unexpected. This popped up yesterday!

The Carpenters were all over my Jr High/High School years, and I really didn't give them much thought. It wasn't until later in my life that I realized how etherial Karen's vox were, and how good Richard's arrangements are. Superstar eventually became my favorite song of theirs, and the instrumental intro is one of the finest ever crafted. Leonid's "hot chick's" vocal here doesn't quite match Karen's, but they're very, very close. Wow!

That version in my opinion is far better than the original!

Something that I think is funny about "Take Five" is that even though it is so closely associated with Dave Brubeck, it's actually a Paul Desmond tune.

I agree this version is great because the band got the time to extend the tune, with more interesting soloing. It's especially good to hear Joe Morello stretch out a little because his solo on the studio version is so concise. I do wish Eugene Wright had been given some spotlight time though.

A good entry point for anybody who wants to hear more Paul Desmond:

My favorite Brubeck album, after Time Out:

Someone played me "The Most Unwanted Song" earlier today, and I swear I laughed for 30 minutes straight! I don't even know what's so funny about it, just everything is so perfectly timed. Not gonna post it in here... just google it and you'll find it - if you want to listen to 22 minutes of insanity. So I'm listening to that for about the third time.

Right! Although don't you think Brubeck might have influenced it a little bit because of his interest in odd meters?
Yeah, I'll buy that!!!

And a primordial variation on the theme...

Let's keep going on Heart of Glass...

Debbie Harry x Philip Glass...this one is laser targeted to me!

I had zero interest in Miley Cyrus until Black Mirror. But NIИ and Blondie covers sure got my attention.

How 'bout a version sung in Inuktitut?
Miley's version is pretty solid! Disappointed she didn't seem able, or willing, to hit the high notes on the "oooh aahhh" bits...

I don't know much of her music, but The Carpenters' Christmas album (I think called the Portrait Album) was one of my mom's favorites, and therefore became one of mine. It still isn't Christmas until I hear her sing.

I can relate to this completely.

ABBA was my mother's favourite, - in fact, in her latter years, when she had dementia, we played ABBA almost continuously, and she would try to dance (when she was still mobile), or conduct - moving her hands - to the music, beaming all the while, - this music just put her in a good mood, sometimes, a great mood - and, to this day, I cannot hear one of those ABBA tracks on that particular album (which she adored) without thinking of her.

Lists are always up for debate but hard to argue with most of these...

Worth a read...

The first video is not available to me. That happens sometimes, perhaps regional issues?

Seems that way (a "trending" issue on this thread lately, no?). In any case, the video is Miley Cyrus covering "Heart of Glass" at a i❤️music festival. The audio is on most streaming services, I think (on an album called Attention, which also has covers of the Pixies, Madonna, and Prince, plus others. Who knew?). Thank you to Black Mirror for expanding my horizon!

i could see the Heart of Glass one, it was the first one of the three I was blocked from seeing.

Sorry for the mixup, here is the complete lineup of videos (again, I think the audio for all three is on streaming services):

Heart of Glass (Crabtree remix)/Blondie x Philip Glass
Heart of Glass/Miley Cyrus
Heart of Glass/Elisapie

An ensemble I wish I'd been aware of earlier, Scary Pockets:

The guy on Wurlitzer you may recognize as the hubbie of the duo/group Pomplamoose, and he's the CEO of Patreon! He and the standing guitar player also host the "Dead Wax" channel on ewetube, where they interviewed that ferocious drummer Louis Cole. He talked about his favorite drummers, all jazz guys from the late 50's, but his new CD is an odd mix of light synthpop, Disney-sounding tunes, and NIN; it'll be in my CD player for a few more weeks, really unusual music.
Larry Goldings on Hammond, John Scofield sitting on guitar, never heard of the bass player but he's cookin'. Fun stuff!

"Love is Still Alive" by Laibach. It's quite a departure from their signature industrial electronic sound and delves into country and western. And typical of Laibach when the switch genres they produce something absolutely brilliant. This is a catchy little ditty with a real fun video that is full of sci-fi easter eggs.

Good stuff. Thanks for the introduction.
