Last night was a night of listening to the musical magic of Pink Floyd:
Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, and The Division Bell.
I played a great pressing of Dark Side of the Moon last night as well.

I attempt to announce a new album on this thread by a classic rock band or solo performer I think needs a listen.I hate threads like these on forums cause I go chasing down.....

This was Hella/Hallo-fun! Loved the TH reference in the middle. You asked for it:
One relies on a different sense when reacting to the falling temperature, than one does when listening, in an awed and rapt silence, to a timeless piece of music.Home, home again
I like to be there when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire

Think I've posted that I never was into streaming until a year or so ago, when I bought a streamer/DAC for my home system.
I started college in '78, and was suddenly exposed to so many different forms of music (I grew up on an isolated farm in SD, dug my Mom's big band records, my Dad's trad country radio not so much, and did get into Chicago and the Doobies via my AM radio). I couldn't really afford many albums, but by my sophomore year I had a nice stereo in the room with a cassette deck, did record a lot of "Greatest Hits" albums from bands in the 60s and 70s, but not a lot of "landmark" albums that were not GHs.
Now, I'm making up for lost time, listening to a lot of older classic albums that I never recorded or even heard: Zepp, Stones, Joni Mitchell, EW&F, Beck, ToP, Hendrix, maybe I should post the list I'm keeping in Apple Notes.
I did have most of Elton John's albums, being a bar musician pianist myself, but this one had escaped me until 3 days ago:

...and I've listened to it a couple times a day since. Wow, this is great; I've always considered Goodbye Yellow Brick Road to be his masterpiece, but this one is right up there. Most songs on this album could've been singles.
So, sorry about the blablabla post, but I'm really loving this album.![]()
