I hope they can play live now. I saw them supporting NIN a few years back and they were awful.

I'm listening to this:

YouTube: video
It's nice to see a band that really takes the job seriously. They really sound great, and what a fantastic shoot / edit on the video! Never heard of them, but I'm interested.

I only posted the Ladytron video because I was thinking of it in relation to the "21 years old and no girlfriend" thread. :p But yeah, I'm struck by how simple they can be sometimes... and I think Helen Marnie is really cute. Guess she just got married this past year, so I'll have to keep searching, haha!

Mansun have been and gone unfortunately... leaving three great studio albums and an out-takes triple CD behind.

Check out 'Attack of the Grey Lantern', a really amazing debut - and the tracks 'The Chad Who Loved Me' and 'Wide Open Space' are classics.

I guess for an electro type band, playing live is kind of a bonus. The guys did OK, but one of the girls was playing bass badly. Kind of an odd band... especially when they lurch into Bulgarian!

The soundtrack from the movie Jackie Brown, "Across 110th Street" (Bobby Womack), "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)" (Delfonics), "Strawberry Letter123" (The Brothers Johnson), and, of course, "Long Time Woman" (Pam Grier herself). Great movie and terrific soundtrack...

Yeah, the other girl is from Serbia, if I'm not mistaken. I think it's funny when one of them has a period of nothing to play, so they just sort of back away from the keyboard and nod along to the beat with their arms at their sides. Not exactly riveting stage presence. It makes me imagine they're thinking, "Look how easy this is to do. I could be reading a book while I perform. F U." That makes me laugh to myself, and people wonder what I find so amusing. "I got to tell you, I've been livin' in a wiggly world, now. A wiggly world, a wiggly world!"

Thanks for the info on Mansun!

Béla Fleck and the Flecktones' newest album, Rocket Science. Just amazing music, which can't be classified as it's a mix of many genres.

I really like the shifting associated with the odd meters of the melody in the song above. The proghead inside of me, I guess. ;)

I'm still on a Ladytron kick. This song is a little more evolved than the last one I posted, you could say. I really dig the Callanish Stones location as well.
