Ristar
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JKIDkpG3aM
Earthworm Jim
Monopoly
Virtual Bart
Mortal Kombat (I don't know why we even had this, me and my friend (who is also a girl) used to play this all the time)

And I agree, a lot of those Disney games were great.

Sooo long ago ... probably forgetting something, plus I didn't have a ton of games for Genesis.

Sonic 2-3 + Sonic & Knuckles
Ecco the Dolphin
Moonwalker
Spider-Man

- Almost all the Sonic games
- Streets of Rage 2, 3
- Golden Axe II
- Pirates! Gold
- Earthworm Jim
- Combat Cars
- NBA Jam
- Mortal Kombat (all)
- Street Fighter II CE
- Super Smash TV
- Skitchin'
- Virtual Bart
- Bart's Nightmare

Just a few of my faves. I still have my Genesis and play it occasionally.

Golden Axe II! Streets of Rage! Bwhahaha. Streets of Rage is the best. I love smashing people with lead pipes. - Awesome...

----------

The Lion King
Golden Axe II
Sonic ( all of them )
Echo the Dolphin ( I HATE YOU )
Mortal Combat 2

X-Men 1-2
Ecco the Dolphin
Sonic
Quackshot
Gunstar Heroes
Phantasy Star 3-4
Castlevania Bloodlines
Aladin
Earthworm Jim (aaaand now I have the theme song of the cartoon in my head)

Man I miss some of those games.

Just curious, would it be best to get an old Genesis or a Wii to play them? Either way I'd have to buy the games again since I sold all mine to get a Saturn .

Oh, I had read something about when you buy stuff on Wii it stays with the console, not the user. That'd suck.

I haven't seen anybody mention Landstalker yet...Did anybody mention Lunar the Silver Star?

While it was way too easy (I beat it...that's how I define easy), Wonderdog had the coolest soundtrack ever in a video game.

I second the Disney games Castle of Illusion and Quackshot...beautiful artwork, and not bad play.

As well as Ecco the Dolphin. Great games in their times, and still worth playing!

Just use an emulator. I don't think spending $5-10 per game is a really good investment. It's going to be the same cost either route you go. But you have a good chance of cartridges having issues if they're not mint, and the same thing with the consoles. I have two of them personally, and we still use them, but they're going to die soon enough considering we used to have my original on for like 40 hours straight sometimes. I have some of the Wii versions, and they're pretty much just straight ROM rips, with some work to make the Sonic & Knuckles lock-on work. You can even do all the debug codes/etc. The Wii remote is awful for playing though, and I know there's the classic gamepad you can get, but still.

But yeah, there are some great emulators that are a good alternative. And really you just need to get a nice gamepad and just map it for the keyboard controls.

There's a third choice. Sega recently released a ton of old Genesis games on Steam a little while ago. You can buy them for $2-3 a pop, or get the whole bundle of 45 games for $30.

It's a best of both worlds solution. They get the reliability of running the games on their PC through an emulator, and can avoid the crisis of conscience they'd get by pirating a bunch of old games off some random website.

That's cool. Sucks that it's only for Windows.

Either way, I just had them delete my Steam account. I kept getting emails someone was trying to log into mine and they weren't much help so I asked them to do away with it.

I was introduced to Ecco the Dolphin just a few months back, and I can safely say this beats the crap out of any Genesis game I've played before. :D That era of games consoles was just a bit before my time so I've just been discovering what they have to offer in recent years, and I've certainly found quite a few gems. :)

I had so much fun playing Ecco the Dolphin when I was a kid.

Wait, I mean, I was playing Raging Zombies. Yeah, that's right. Zombies...

Nice memories reading all this...think it hasn't been mentioned, so I'll add

Kid Chameleon
James Pond
Aladdin

huge jump n' runner here :)

Robocop vs Terminator
Micro Machines 96
Sonic
Sonic 2
FIFA 95
Golden Axe
Boogerman
Ecco the Dolphin
Streets of Rage
Street Fighter II Turbo
Mortal Kombat 2
