In our country TV is a total waste of time in my opinion, but if I had to choose, it would be The Simpsons, Futurama, House M.D. and Scrubs. Oh, and some which were apparently never aired here - Black Books and Firefly.

Black Books, Father Ted, Peep Show, Doctor Who, Spooks, Robin Hood (yes it's a cheesefest), The Armando Iannuci Show, Alan Partridge, Brass Eye, The Office (the good one), Spaced, Red Dwarf, Have I got News For You, Green Wing, League of Gentlemen, Phoenix Nights.

Are my faves.

I almost wrote Casualty. It's not something I really like but it has become a tradition in our house.

My all time favorite show is The Office (US). I've seen every episode and a ton of gear. I'm not obsessed...

I also like House MD and The Simpsons.

  • House M.D.
  • The Sopranos.
  • The Simpsons.
  • Arrested Development.
  • MythBusters.
  • Match of the Day.

The original UK version of The Office, The Sopranos (naturally) and, all-time-favourite, Hill Street Blues.

Arrested Development
Lost
24
Mythbusters
How I Met Your Mother
Everest: Beyond the Limit
Dirty Jobs
How It's Made
Futurama
Kitchen Nightmares
Top Chef
ATHF
Robot Chicken
and Tom Baker era Dr. Who.

I'm not really into TV too much but I enjoy a few shows.
CSI
Veronica Mars ( I'm so mad that they canceled it! I never got to see the end of Season 3!)
Food Network (except Iron Chef, too silly):apple:

The Sopranos, Prison Break and 24. I watch TV for entertainment so I can look past whether it's actually realistic or not! ;)

  • Arrested Development.

Arrested Development

:( I was so mad when they took it off the air. Truly one of the best shows in recent (or rather past) years. :(

Since the thread doesn't have a time reference, I'm going to stick with shows currently on the air.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia- Enormously offensive and not for those who believe in "PC" garbage (politically correct). The characters are all psychotic and moronic. Arguably my favorite show (though the next one comes close).

How I Met Your Mother- has been getting funnier and funnier lately and is definitely worth a look if you haven't seen it already. With the writers' strike, now is an excellent time to catch up.

Two and a Half Men- Started out stronger but is gradually fading. There are still a few funny ones here and there, but the show has lost a lot of what made it so great in the beginning.

30 Rock- I thought this show was strange at first, but after giving it a chance, I found it to be truly worthwhile. It's off beat but it's very funny if you give it a chance.

The Office- Was much funnier last season. This season started out with some rather disappointing 1 hour "specials." Boo. I don't want to have sympathy for Dwight (although the break-up was funny). They seem to be getting back on track, but as of the writers' strike, I've noticed that the episodes have become formulaic, and that means I might stop watching if the post-strike episodes aren't any different.
