Choplifter was a good one. There is just something to be said (for me and those that played these Apple II games in the early eighties) for those early games. Going to the local computer store and seeing all those games, half of them in ziplock bags with hand drawn art by the developer of the game. It was a magical time in gaming for me and it says alot that I can still sit down and play many of these today.

PC
Dune II
Sim City 2000
Civilization 2
Lemmings
Sim Tower
Welltris (3D tetris)

Mac
Yoot Tower
Age of Empires

Prior to all this was a whole lotta console gaming back to pong and Atari 2600.

I loved Choplifter. I also played Karateka, Track and Field, and Wizardry. Ahh, the good old days of 5.25" floppies that you could notch out with a hole punch and make double-sided.

Totally forgot about the hole punch trick! I remember a buddy of mine actually had a square hole punch specifically for that. His disks looked cooler than mine.

Anyone remember the old school dark castle...amazing. The floppy disc Astroid prime game...even better. Also one of my all time favorites was tom clancys rogue spear. Surprised that whole series made it to the mac.

Dark Castle? What no love for Karateka or the Prince of Persia?

Oh, man, Karateka was the first game I got on floppy disk for my Atari 65XE. That game took me forever to beat... no just because I found it difficult, but the game took forever to load!

There's been a few. Lets see what I can dredge up from my seedy past...

Wing Commander
Pretty sure this was on the 486. A great space flight sim game. Had the coolest mothership ever, the Concordia. Can't remember the name of the enemy, but they were basically walking Tigers.

The Kilrathi! My PC at the time wasn't powerful enough to run 1 and 2. I got in from part 3 and on. I just purchased 1 and 2 recently from GOG and am trying to give them a go now.

1991, DOS.

Just another GOG code of two games I already own. So I make them free to take:

DX95773B

The code is for Ultima Underworld I + II. Hence I thought it might fit into this thread. Please write a reply once the codes have been redeemed.

I played Karateka as a kid. A LOT. That was almost 30 years ago. However, I was feeling nostalgic recently and decided to give it a go on the online Apple ][ emulator. Well, apparently I got pretty good at the game as a kid, because my first time playing it in almost 30 years, I beat the whole game in one try!
