Edit 3: cheap car or "cheap stuff in general" is exempt from the list (in terms of monetary value).

Wow this is quite snotty and bias to the poor. I'm a little offended as well. I'm sorry if us poor people aren't good enough for you. Please trash this thread.

My clothes, my range of sunglasses, my MacBook and my St. Tropez. And my newly whitened teeth.

Mine, mine, mine, allllll mine! :p

Edit: And my new Car!

If I may clarify the intention of the original post:

I believe the thread submitter was looking for a single, physical possession (not an abstract concept or living thing, and not something general like "my clothes" or "computer gear"). That being said, the physical possession does *not* have to be the possession of highest monetary value. It can be something with sentimental or other non-monetary value. Submitter, did I get that right?

So by the above criteria, my most valuable possession, sadly enough, is my MacBook. And not just in monetary terms, but also in terms of the utility I get out of it every day.

I don't own a house or a car (living in NYC and all), and none of my clothing or furniture or electronics is more expensive than my MacBook. I have a suit that I think was close to the price of the MacBook, but since this is a Mac forum, I'll give the prize to the MacBook :) (and anyway I never wear the suit so I don't really value it).

Edit: and I don't think financial investments should count either. If I included financial investments, my single largest financial holding (and largest "possession", if we include it) I think is an S&P 500 mutual fund. But I don't think it should count.

I think "most prized possession" would be more appropriate, but anyways....I have a couple:

1- A 50 cent piece that I keep in my pocket every single day. My dad gave it to me, it was once my grandfather's.

2- A small box that sits on my desk that contains a bunch of people/cars that was part of my dad's train set when he was very, very young. Lionel rocks!!

Those are my most prized, by far. I also am very found of the brow leather jacket that I bought when I was in Italy a few years ago. I really don't see how you can list a car or computer equipment as your most valuable possessions- if they get stolen or whatnot, get a new one (or have insurance get you a new one!)- they are only material things that can be replaced.

-edited some spelling and such

Not saying that it is for me, but a computer could be argued for. Some people have their entire lives on a computer, pictures, documents, health info. I rarely ever print picture off any more because it is much easier to just put them on the computer and show them that way.

Personally, my most prized possession is my book collection. I am an avid reader and I love to collect books. It also includes things like my bible that has all of my thoughts and lessons I have learned scribbled into the margins.

I would definitely agree with that- didn't think about it that way.

Speaking for myself, it's because I tend not to keep things for sentimental value. I don't even collect pictures (not even digital ones). There's nothing I have from my childhood or personal life that I really attach sentimental value to. I don't know why that is - maybe it has to do with moving around a lot when I was a kid and getting used to not getting attached to things...

Edit: in fact, the longest I've ever kept anything is probably some clothes that I've owned for almost 10 years. And not because of sentimental value, but rather because it's clothes that I rarely wear but still like, so I've never gotten rid of it.

My most valued possession is the 7-layer brownie thing I'm eating that I got from Starbucks. Yummy.

Bah, I ate it all, now I have nothing! :D

What was the point of this thread?

too many edits to keep track of, i dont know what the rules are so i will post the thing i own with the highest dollar amount.
