The Ocean Railway by Stephen Fox.

Engineering, entrepreneurship, social history, international relations and how many Americans' ancestors arrived in North America - and not one mention of Leonardo Dibloodycaprio.

A break from the fiction.

I'm now reading a book entitled Darcy's Story. It's a follow-up to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, but the follow-up is authored by a modern writer, Janet Alymer, who tells the story of Pride and Prejudice from Mr. Darcy's perspective. So far it's good, but I do think the author could have been more imaginative to detail Mr. Darcy's interpretation of events and dialogue. It seems too often that the author retells dialogue exactly as it appears from the original version without taking some time to give readers a deeper understanding of Mr. Darcy's actions and responses. I recommend the book nonetheless.

Currently Reading- Battlestar Galactica: Sagittarius is Bleeding by Peter David

Previously Read (In Order):
Battlestar Galactica: The Cylon's Secret by Craig Shaw Gardner
The Worst Person in the World (And 202 Strong Contenders) by Keith Olbermann
Battlestar Galactica by Jeffrey Carver

They are all very good books. Especially if you like BSG, adds a little detail to the background.

Quicksilver by Neil Stephenson, ony 600 pages left to go, followed by 2 more books in the series

Ha! I'm just getting into the first 100+ pages of that same Stephenson series. Cryptonomicon is another good one by the same author.

  • Quicksilver, by Neal Stephenson
  • rereading The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, by Stephen R. Donaldson (brain candy that's much easier to carry around than Quicksilver in hardcover)
  • A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson
  • ...various coding manuals to put me to sleep.

Tolstoy's War and Peace. About a hundred pages in.

If you're looking for something to read don't forget THE list ;)

Without coutning a few CS2 books, I am reading Kellogg on Integrated Marketing. After that I am going to read Soak Wash Rinse Spin. I am also interested in reading the rest of Harry Potter series (I stopped at book 2).

Good responses so far. Just picked up "My Secret Life" Signet Classics edition yesterday. Want to read the Bostonians by Henry James soon too.

Currently reading Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. Very fun book :)

Sure beats reading engineering text books all day. I love winter break :D
