haha no but i use my GPS alot when getting around Washington, D.C. during the day.
Biking? Sounds like a lot of riding in one day. Are you a bike messenger? And if so you start the Workout app on every ride?

EDIT: I now see from the thread above that you may have not understood how and when GPS works on the :apple:Watch. If so just disregard this post.

Full brightness. When I got my Series 0 (if that's what we call it now), I put the brightness up to full after about a week when I realised the battery wasn't as awful as everyone was implying it would be. Series 2 is now on 92% having come off the charger about 5 hours ago.

I've set mine to default. I can't say I've had incredibly bright sunlight but I've been outside and I can see it fine. I've also been coming home with 70+% battery left after 11+ hours including an hour run. Color me impressed.

I am seeing more and more reports of battery life such as that - and I'm just not getting it myself.

I use my watch at work, never too far from my phone (which is in my bag pretty much all day) and my phone is always connected to wifi. I even have my macbook connected to iCloud which kills some notifications going to phone/watch while i have it open at work (iMessage, mail, etc.). I went into settings over the past weekend and killed just about all background refreshing except for obvious ones - I also don't have any 3rd party apps. I have had my watch on for about 7 hours under this usage (no GPS/light haptic/medium brightness) and am currently at 71%. Think a re-pair is worth it?

Repair wouldn't hurt. At worst you'll waste some time. I just wish it wasn't so slow. Pairing an Apple Watch is like setting an iPhone up a decade ago lol.

I'll add that I'm almost never strictly on wifi. If I go on a run the phone stays home. If I go to the gym it comes with me. Everywhere else I'm connected via Bluetooth. Unsure if that matters and to what extent.

read somewhere it takes about an hour?
Yeah. Just make sure you do it at home when you have time. I've had a pair get stuck and had to try again. The situation was unique (we were pairing a brand new s0 on 1.0.1) and had to restart and retry about five times. The update never worked through my wife's phone so I paired it with mine which finally fixed it. Then re paired to her device.

Long story short I won't ever do a pairing unless I'm at home. Just don't want to risk turning my Watch into a bracelet for the day haha.

As reference my Watch is at 94%. I didn't run this morning and I took it off the charger at 7:45. It's current 1:30.

Yeah, must be in the same time zone. I mean - I'm assuming you actually check the time and use the thing, right? haha. I'm nowhere close to that - actually, 70% now. I'm trying not to obsess over it as I get through my day with some left - but, I'd also like it to work the way it is supposed to for the $ I paid.

I agree on doing it at home - will probably do so later.

Thanks for the info and prompt responses (Sorry to OP for hijacking for a moment, haha)

I do. I love it for easily and quickly deleting emails I don't care about. My son is in a Hungarian cultural group and folks love the "reply all" function. I get about a dozen emails by noon that automatically get deleted after a quick skim. I also text but the frequency depends. I've been messaging my friend through hangouts as he shares his experiences in Japan (has vacationing for a week).

Usage is always a tough one to compare though. I don't check the time all that often and only really use the workout app, mail, messages. I also noticed I get an estimate of my commute to and from work; it even seems to know the days and times when in headed to group with my son.

I don't known if the Watch has a very robust way of showing you what is draining the battery. iOS lacked this for many years. Maybe someone else can help pinpoint what, if anything, is the issue. Maybe you just really are using it more :)

Personally I wouldn't bother. 71% after 7 hours isn't bad at all and will absolutely get you through the day. Battery life has so many variables that I think there's a good chance that you'll wind up in exactly the same position after doing the repair and wasting an hour or so of your time.

Even if it does make a difference and you wind up at 90% after 7 hours does it do you any good? If you charge the watch every night anyway then it doesn't really matter if you end the day at 40% or at 80%.

Just seems like an hour of wasted time to me.

Used full brightness on Series 0 and now on Series 2, haven't noticed any issues with battery life and I'm always installing the latest beta from my dev account. I messed with the brightness a lot on Series 0 just to see if there were any issues, but there just isn't.. if anything it's so minor on battery life that I don't even notice.

Have always been on max, even with gen 1. switched to half today to see if theres any major difference in battery life. it always gets me through the day regardless

This may make me sound like a crazy person..but, that won't stop me..

That's for my usage now - with no workouts, no GPS, etc.

What about a long day with a workout and I find myself in a spot where I can't charge overnight?

It'd be nice to have another 40% (arbitrary, I know) battery in the almost $500 of hardware I'd like to use.

That is all.

Yesterday at about 1pm - I was at about a 70%.

I re-paired last night.

Today leaving work at 5:30pm under what I know to be heavier usage - used the watch a lot today - I am still at 85%.

I'd have to think t made a difference. Hopefully, it stays this way.

That's awesome. I'll keep my fingers crossed too!
