What can we expect to see in Ipad 4?

I think thinner and lighter for sure. The iPad 3 is unusually for Apple, heavier than its predecessor. Maybe a non-reflective screen to make it better for reading too?

Imagine if it was as thin as the width of the lid/screen of a Macbook air :)

Thinner
A6X
iPhone 5 LTE chip
Lightning

I don't know what else to expect.

I think the new iPad will change form factors and narrow the width while keeping the height. I think it will look like the iPhone 5. Additionally, I agree that a faster, quad core CPU and improved graphics engine with double the RAM for the OS may happen. These last few hardware changes could result in much better performance. Much improved battery life. I don't think it will be thinner, though.

*A6x chip
*new graphics chip
*2GB of ram
*LTE
*thinner
*lighter
*better retina 40% more saturated just like the iPhone 5

+ maybe some minor design changes

We've gotten to the point where we don't want it to do anything new. Just do what it does better.

Very interesting.

That's exactly how the past iPhone event was and everyone complains.. Hm...

I'm actually very curious as to where Apple has to go in updating their hardware -- it seems like they've updated themselves into a corner IMO. Sure, there are a lot of smaller features the competitors offer that Apple could play with, but they all seem pretty gimmicky still. I probably sound insane right now, but I really don't know what "big" features are left, other than just beefing up what's already there (camera resolution, processor, ram, etc. -- all incremental stuff).

Yup. Exactly what I was saying. Which is fine. We'll stall on the multi-touch paradigm for a while until Apple comes out with another revolution which will make the... (computer, ipod, iphone, ipad...) 5TH major revolution for the way we see electronics. Boy, am I excited. It'll be a while though. All they're selling now is still relatively new. Let people use theirs for a while before changing it all over again. :apple:

It will be the iPad 3S. iPad 3 was a big jump so were gonna have to settle for a smaller leap this time.

I think this will be a refresh of iPad 3, A6x, 2GB ram, same screen and size. The real bump will be iPad 4.

I really hope they don't do the "S" nomenclature for iPads.

SAMSUNG might sue them. HAHAHA.

I want
A6 chip
wifi 802.11 AC
stereo speakers
better integration with accessories. (keyboard docks, Cameras, Instruments, scanners, printers)

Mostly we are asking for improvements. This is not bad. Stereo speakers would be new. It is hard to get the speakers facing forward in this form factor. Maybe it could be built into the case? The case would have little scoops built in to reflect the sound forward.

Maybe they will add a fingerprint scanner or other biometric security device.

It would be nice to have a higher precision digitizer to make writing and drawing better.

Almost anything else would be added as a software feature. A payment system might be done optically rather than by NFC (just my guess) because of security concerns. Maps, Siri improvements, social media products are all built in software. In his vein an upgrade of iBooks Author would be helpful.

Personally I'd like a larger screen but I don't expect that for a long time, if ever.

The new ipad will have a carbon Fiber body as well as improved specifications. And of course it will be thinner than iPad 3 since the technology is much improved. A better retina display with more pixel density.

Thanks but all keep my all aluminium back

Really all that matters

1. Quad-core CPU and graphics.

2. Improved UI for iPad. What I mean is that Notification Center should be more like Mount Lion. I want to see Mission Control variant for multitasking.

3. Maybe thinner and lighter or at least back to the iPad 2 size.

Anything else is meh.

Bought the The first iPad,iPad 2,and ipad3. Knowing apple they will have usually,small improvements of the next iPad like increase in storage,lightning port etc etc.So I'm sticking with my IPad 3 I'm going to buy if they will have the following:increased in storage like 128/256 gb,comes in different color like the iPod touch,:)

Size increase is my biggest concern too. I NEED 128GB.

I think this would be one of the most noticeable improvements they could make regarding iPad user experience. Longer battery life is always welcome too. :)

What we'll see for sure:
- A6/A6X processor;
- thinner, lighter, runs cooler;
- facetime hd camera;
- lightning connector;
- iPhone5-style LTE

What I'd like to see:
- 2gb of RAM (retina display is very RAM hungry)
- storage from 32gb to 128
- wifi ac (broadcom bcm4335. This is crucial to have a great airplay mirroring experience. I think it's a priority for apple, but I'm not sure if there will be enough supply in the first quarter of 2013. If not, we will have to live with broadcom 4334, already on the iPhone5, which has a maximum speed of 150mbit/s, compared to the sad 68mbit/s of the current iPad)
- stereo speakers (come on Apple!)
- better digitizer for writing and drawing

My guess:

A6
720p HD Facetime
Lightning connector
8MP camera

However none of that is worth the upgrade from Ipad 2 or 3. So what else will Apple do to sell us the new Ipad?

Well UK LTE support is paramount.

I'm also expecting it to be thinner and lighter, perhaps even a complete redesign reminiscent of the current devices on the market. :apple:

EW and reduce the border! TOO THICK ON THE SIDES

I'm hoping the 5th revolution will be a TV set, not just Apple TV. ALL current TV set top boxes have HORRENDOUS operating systems. They dayum uhhhhgly. :apple:
