Case quandry

I can't help but think getting a case to cover your sharp looking iPhone is the equivalent of putting a clear plastic cover on your sweet couch in the living room..... seems rather ridiculous when you think of it that way, huh??

Not really. Yes if you buy the big plastic cases, but something like the InvisibleSHIELD and Ghost Armor is like putting scotch-guard on your couch.

You all have some nice cases.

I'm on the fence about what I want. I got the clear contour, but it is just to protect the phone until I figure out what I want. I am too active and clumsy to NOT have a case, but I love the films. I'm glad some of you get a beautiful phone with some scratch protection, but I know I would destroy it. Enjoy looking sleek and sexy, while I look frumpy and bulky. :D

Can the belt clip be removed? I was looking for another Sena case. I have an ultra slim pouch for my original iPhone. It was great. After 2 months or so of use the pouch really stretched out and led to one of my worst drops where I dented my phone pretty bad. I still use it, but I can literally put the stock headphones with belkin cord tie thingy in the pouch with the phone. I might check out the Vaja classic retro slim bag this time around. The Elga looks promising but I want something for my pocket and I can't tell if that clip would cause a problem.

i dont think the clip can be removed, i just tried to lift it up some to see what its holding it on and its very very secured to the rest of the case, i used some force too. its a super sturdy and stiff clip its pretty low profile too. i dont know how it would feel in your pocket w/ the clip. i just measured the thickness with the phone in it and its 1" exactly and the thickest part of the clip is a little over a 1/4" and the thinnest part of it is about an 1/8"
heres a picture i found of the 2g iphone in the case

its a really nice case. why just not clip it on to your belt? it has excellent protection for your phone

I like that contour flick case except that flimsy as $!@# looking bottom cap. I suggest those who like that to wait for InCase to release the slider for 3G. I loved mine for my first gen phone. Looks exactly the same except the bottom piece just slides off...no breakable pieces.

I was looking for the Incase Slider for the 3g, I believe they have a new line of cases for the iPhone 3g, but when they are coming out, I have no idea. Anyone know?

I'm getting my iPhone on Tuesday next week, I would like a case for then- does anyone know where I can get a Contour Flick?

Does anyone think that apart from the chance of the bottom bit breaking on the Contour Flick that it will be better than the Incase Slider?

Cheers :)

They were all out of the Incase Sliders when I went so I picked up the Contour Flick. The manager there actually opened it up so we could see how it looked. I love it. It looks great and seems to protect it very well.

I am still a little confused on all the Sena products. Something tells me that they are trying to pass off the original iPhone products as working for both. I'm betting they meant to send you a 2G case and that's why it is tighter. If you look on the apple site it claims compatibility with both which is a little sketchy. (link)

Well, no freaking wonder. I emailed CS and was told to give it 30 days to stretch. Um, no, I want to return it now. I'm a tiny woman with very small hands, and I can't deal with the level of pressure I'm having to put on it to insert/remove the phone. It's unusable. My last email was ignored and I still don't have a return authorization number.

Can you please take some pictures of this case, I really want to get it, but I want to see some pictures of the Flick before I do buy it

I bought my case from the Apple Store. I got the Agent 18 case.

For those of you that wish to still dock - it allows you to do that without taking the case off like many other phones.

I love it

Just got back from the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL and have pics of the Agent 18 Clear case. I went with this one because it can dock in the universal dock using the supplied dock adapter and still shows off my white beauty.:p

How is this case with fingerprints on the back of the phone? Im thinking of grabbing this one and getting some ghost armor for the front or something like that.

Devvoid, can I ask where you got you're Contour Flick case from? Where abouts in the world are you?

Thank you.

I got the white Griffin Wave for my white iPhone.

Looks great and is tough as hell! The case is a little translucent, so you can still see the chrome :apple: and read "iPhone" and "16GB" on the back.

Instead of the included screen protector, I'm using the non-glare film they sell at the Apple Store. Although it does make the screen look a little grainy, fingerprints and smudges are simply a non-issue. I can't recommend that film enough.

So happy.

Seems like the film everyone has been talking about is Ghost Armor. Do they sell these films at the Apple Store or AT&T?

Actually, if you search, Ghost Armor only appears on these forums starting July 8th and only by "newbies" that came here apparently to promote this brand that very few have heard of before.

Then do a search on Invisible Shield where you'll find pages and pages of history, or search BSE or Best Skins Ever or BestSkinsEver, or BodyGuardz, etc. and you'll find tons of posts.

Well, I ended up grabbing a Belkin silicon sleeve from the Apple store when I got my 3G yesterday. http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=457217 is what i got, but a different pattern.

I'm still debating on keeping it or not. It looks good enough and doesn't add that much to the size. Of course, I'd have to do some kind of customizing to get a dock to fit.

My other option (besides a different gel case of some kind) would be skin from Bodygardz or Invisisheild or Best Skin Ever. Do all these fully cover the silver trim around the screen?

Either way, i will be getting a power support anti-glare screen protector soon (they were out at the apple store). I had it on my old iPhone and the fingerprints and glare from the screen are really annoying.

i have not seen anyone post about the griffin nu form and would like to ask if anyone has it how it looks pictures would be awesome
