I ordered the Apple Smart folio and Smart Keyboard for mine (12.9), and am now wondering if I really need both. I previously owned both for my 11” iPad Pro and just used the Smart folio most of the time. Since the 12.9 is much larger than the 11, I think I will probably just end up keeping the Apple Smart keyboard then use the iPad without a case when I don’t need one. When the Magic Keyboard becomes available, I plan to do the same.

When you say Apple Smart Cover, are you referring to the Apple Smart Folio? I can’t find anything that say “Cover” for the current line of iPad Pro.
Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t intending to bust your chops at all (I know people get nasty online). It’s that I received my ESR case, and I’m not sure if I like the quality. I mean, it was only $12 on Amazon - though it comes recommended by several sites. I was wondering if I should just splurge for the Apple folio. That’s why I was asking. Again, thanks!!
Wish Apple Released more than two new colors for Smart Folio, but I've been waiting for a cool blue one forever. I wish they made a Turquoise, Green, Orange, and Red one for the supposed "Spring" colors they are advertising them as.

Presently using the Apple 'Smart' Case. Seriously Apple? $79 for a piece of plastic with ZERO protection? It's going back as soon as the new one arrives.
UPDATE: The red was 'toy red,' so I immediately exchanged it for black. Just didn't want anyone else to make the same mistake.

i ordered an ESR case off of amazon. The expected delivery is 4/23 and my ipad should be arriving a week before.
The cases that I would like to see are ones from Zugu and Moshi, but one won't be available until late april/early may and I can't even tell if moshi has one in the works.
Another case I'm considering is the otterbox 360, however the cover does not stick to the back when folded over.

Yes, they fit perfect, I’ve been using the blue one for 3-weeks or what-not. It says on the Apple-Store app that they are compatible.)
Just ordered a couple cases from ESR's webstie for his and her's IPP Pro 12.9's that arrived at the end of March. No luck getting anything on Amazon due to horrid delivery times and no luck with eBay because it seems the sellers are all based in China.
Screen protectors installed... just waiting on cases. Carefully. Hopefully ESR will come through with a decent delivery time.

yes they will except for the camera bump. I’ve used the Apple Smart Folio and the Smart Folio Keyboard case and the fit is fine (except for the camera bump) and functional.
My ESR Yippee ended up arriving this past monday. I ordered the 12.9 version off amazon.
I went straight from ESR. Random items show a 2-3 day prime delivery time on Amazon but most everything like this shows 3 weeks out. The standard "we don't care if you are a prime customer we are catering to the toilet paper buyers" that will have me passing on renewing my Amazon prime membership.
Hopefully ESR will come through. I ordered cases off eBay on 3/30 from CA (I'm in WA) and 9 days later it still shows "picked up, USPS waiting on item." In short, my bad for not reading the recent seller reviews. Representing CA, actually in China. I kinda suspected after the first "your item is on the way" in broken english email.
Anyway, just a frustrating experience. Can't get a case it seems... and no I'm not paying $99 for Apple's folio case. It's about $80 too high.
