yeah, I don't think naked is responsible, especially when apple specifically advised against it for jet black. They never admit that a product might have a "weakened" design

Will see coz the cutting at the back looks big enough

Just look at the lens placement alone and ignore the larger size for a second.

iPhone 7 top, iPhone 6s bottom. You can clearly see the placement difference and lens size as well.

They don't exactly advise against it. They just mention the high polish can show scratches and if that kinda thing bothers you, then get a case. It's mostly to cover their end so that they don't have to replace phones from all the OCDers that will go to an Apple Store 2 hours after purchase to get a brand new phone because of some tiny minuscule micro scratch.

Clear case to show off the beautiful jet black

I'd have to see one with a clear case in person, but seems to me that the shininess of the plastic clear case would drastically reduce the shine of the Jet Black and make it just look black. If what I'm assuming is true then it would just look slightly darker than the normal matte black iPhone (because it's a deeper black on the Jet Black version)

Can't decide between Apple leather black case for my jet black, or the Spigen Ultra Hybrid.

Camera is larger on both the 7 and 7+ (the + for obvious reasons) and not in the exact same spot, so that won't line up. No headphone jack on the bottom, so the holes in the button of the case won't line up either.
Apple cases do not have holes as they don't cover the speaker or headphone jack. In fact the cases for the 7 look identical to the 6/6s ones apart from the camera cutout. The bottom looks the same in fact. I'd actually love a sea blue leather case for my 6S!

So tempted to not put a case on it but the jet black is so easy to get scratches on it so I'm ordering a couple clear cases from Amazon, I always go with Apple cases but I really don't want to cover the beautiful jet black finish, I wish Apple came out with a high quality clear case...

I am contemplating some sort of clear skin this time. Against my better judgement, I ordered the Jet black. I would like to use it without a case, or in a card sleeve. The idea is to find a nice clear skin that doesn't detract from the finish too much. I find that hard or silicone clear skins tend to get gunk in them and that will guarantee scratch this phone.

It would have been wiser to just buy a jet black case and get a black to silver iphone than wait for the jet black phone.

None! Going naked! Only way to go!

OK... seriously.... if I had bought Jet Black... I'd put a glossy CLEAR skin on it.

OH WAIT! I ordered PINK and I'm putting a clear skin on mine! (sorry... I don't do cases! haha!)

This will veer this thread into a different direction....

I like the idea of skins. But do they really protect the phone when dropped?

If so, what skins do you recommend? Amazon links appreciated.

Skins offer no protection really - you are taking your chances. However, if you aren't the clumsy type, or decide to invest in Applecare, it might be fine.

Except Apple specifically said that you probably will need one for the Jet Black... and a clear one won't detract from the color too much (I currently have a Rose Gold). Might be hard to get for you, but some of us like to sell our devices at the end and don't want to take any chances just to keep a "shiny new color" on full display
[doublepost=1473448854][/doublepost]I'm planning on a clear skin from Ghost Armor. (www.ghost-armor.com)

I ordered the Apple Black Silicon case, but thanks to this thread I also ordered this one too. Only $10.99 there's really not much to lose.

I'm not getting the piano black, but I will say that the Apple veg tanned leather case for the iPhone 6s Plus is my favorite case ever.

Do you have any pics? I don't see any cases they offer currently that label them as "veg tanned". I do see a light tan case for the 7 Plus. I've been using saddle brown since I've had my 6S and the edges have turned to almost black since I'm always wearing indigo.
