I got my first white devices with the iPad mini and iPhone 5s. I don't see myself going back to black. I actually think the black border is MORE distracting, especially for smaller devices, because it gives such a contrast. The white screens blend into the background wether it's light or dark out. The black screens are always dark, even when it's light out.

I don't think it's Too noticeable for larger screens like the iPad or Macs though. I'd have to see them in person to decide.

They dont make TVs with white bezels because most people have their walls painted white and it either wouldnt macht the white tone of the wall or make it hard to see where the tv starts and ends therefore make it somehow disturbing.

For me the white ipad makes so much more sense, since most of the UI depends heavily on white space. I actually like how the screen blends in to the border -specially on surfing websites or reading.

I somehow never liked the black ipad, although my iphones were mostly black. It somehow gives the device a "depressing touch". Dont know why, but the white one always seemed friendlier and more approachable to me.

White on white blends in so it is disturbing? Apple pretty much only advertises with white on white when showing the white iPads and iPhones. Most people have white walls?

For any video content, especially cinema ratio films which have black borders on the top and bottom, black is considered better for the contrast and less distraction against the picture.

Looks like gold is for girls.

I don't know what I'd think if I see a guy pull out a gold iPad.

Black for me. Too big for white. Doesn't look nice.

For me it's always black (or the closest to) when it comes to iPads or iPhones.

Since contrast is measured as a black to white ratio it does not really make a difference if the border is black or white.

Anyway I could never really stand that the black in the image is not as black as the border. that really always bugged me. the black actually looks blacker on a white bezel.

I bought the gold and midnight blue case . Looks great together.

Huh? I am a guy and I got the gold...I guess now I'll add on a pink smart cover too.

Well, that's what I did. But, I am a girl. :D. I like both the gold iPad and the pink case. Can't believe how thin this thing is! (Coming from an iPad 3.)

I like the black front but don't like the lighter grey used in this generation. And with gold looking like piss, I'll go with pristine silver :D

I went for white on one of the iPads that I had and quickly grew tired of it. Ever since then, I have always gone for the gray/black combination on all the following models.

I used to love black over white but when I wanted to get the Samsung galaxy note 3 Amazon at the time only had wireless charging backs in white and a white back on a black phone looks weird imo so I got white and quite loved it

Both the space grey and silver look really nice to me. Was convinced I was going to buy the White/silver but after seeing the Touch ID on the new iPads and iPhones ive decided to go space grey. The off white Touch ID just looks cheap to me compared with the black- anyone else notice the black Touch ID has a more silver looking tint around it now?

Lol. Black is macho and silver/gold is girly. That's what I thought 10 years back as teenagers.

Now I just prefer cleaner n soft looking color.

What color looks best for the new ipad air 2?

I have a space grey 5s but went with Gold mainly because I think it will look good in a black case. The gold TouchID is also attractive.

I think I might go with a Gold 6S next year.

Edit: I have a penis

Think black looks much better but also appreciate the sleek looks of the white. Tried white for a week, just couldn't do it, reminds me to much of those old white macbook pros. All ones opinion.

Are you sure?

I went for silver with a midnight blue case - really like it, nice combo. I use my iPad mainly for productivity purposes, so white is a good choice for me. Last iPad was space grey, which also looked great. Thought I would like the gold (got a gold 6+), but it was a bit too much.
