It's interesting to see battery included in the responses here, as well as often seeing it in photos / screen shots of peoples' watch faces.... I never even think about my watch's battery level, because it always lasts a full 14-16 hour day for me (with power to spare). Do those who have to keep tabs on their battery wear their watch all the time (for sleep tracking), only removing it occasionally when a charge is needed?

Interesting indeed.

I’m just in the habit of wanting to know what my device’s battery level is at.

  • Battery
  • Activity Rings
  • Outside temperature where I'm currently at
  • Sunrise / Sunset
  • Date
  • Messages
  • Rain Probability
  • Compass

I don't really use the compass, all others I use frequently.

My only real must-have is outside temperature. I usually show activity rings too, but would much prefer a complication with total steps and distance. (my health plan has a cash incentive for walking 10,000+ steps a day for at least 12 days/month, which is why I want that metric on my radar)

Weather, or at least outside temperature.
Activity rings.
Messages.

Those are really my only must-haves.

I can't say the same since upgrading from an S4 to an S8. Since I got an S8, I wear it when I sleep now for the sleep and O2 tracking, and I end up having to charge it at least once a day.

I actually just charged from 15%, which was about 26 hours from full charge. There are quite a few times that I've been surprised how fast the watch burns through power, so I always need to keep an eye on the battery.

In my Infograph face there is:

- local time of the place my daughter lives in (before there was s shortcut to timer)
- outside temperature with daily min and max (shortcut to weather)
- activity rings
- sun height on the horizon (shortcut to Lumy for natural light times)
- Date and schedule
- Battery
- last heart rate measured (with daily min and max)
- barometric pressure with trend

For the weather I used Carrot Weather complication before, there was both temp and forecast on same complication, abandoned it because of lack of precision.

Basically these. Complication spots are so precious if I want to know the bat% I use control center every now and then. With watchOS 10 it’s easier than ever

There are apps for that

I have California with date up too and Level down below (used to have compass there but level shows the same info plus level info). I have an ‘alt’ watch face based off of Metropolitan where I have Date, Compass, Temperature and Tide Pro which shows me the tide data for the local stretch of the Thames so I can see at a glance if I can walk along the river or not (the footpath usually floods with high tide).

It never occurred to me that so many people have battery showing. I switch between my normal watch and my last gen one for night so I never have to even think about watch battery.

When I go the seaside I replace a complication with one with tide height and time too, from Tides app, even if in the Mediterranean the tide is barely noticeable.
