It’s right by where the strap connects, I couldn’t have rubbed against anything?

I have Cape Cod polishing cloths, will they rub it out?

If anyone’s done such a thing (@bricktop_at ?) what method did you use?

Could it have been there from the beginning, but I just never noticed it?

It’s very fine, and you have to look for it.

Thanks in advance.

If it's very fine and that is a silver stainless steel watch then you'll absolutely polish that away with Cape Cod cloths.
Take care not to get the cloth on the glass as it'll take the coating off.

Many thanks.

It’s not near the screen, so should be fairly safe to remove it.

I’ve babied this watch, more than you could believe, so I don’t know how it happened? I think it may have always been there, but I haven’t noticed it before.

This may sound silly, but I no longer like the watch, because of this. It’s pissed me off.

Thanks again for your advice.

Maybe. Pocket lint can be more abrasive than you'd think. I have super deep scratches on my phone from some pocket gunk.

Easily.

Probably not. My best guess is a metal band of sorts. Milanese loops are notorious for scratching the watch. I baby my NaTi which ive had since new and it has similar scratching from a milanese loop.

Cheers, Mike.

Definitely not a strap that caused it, as I steer clear of Milanese & such.

I really hope the Cape Cod will sort it.

Currently at my nan’s, so will give it a go when I go home tomorrow.

Cape Cod will do the job just fine!👍🏻
Thanks BT.

Are the scratches deep enough you can feel them with your nail?

Cool. If they are light scratches then cape cod may work with a little effort, failing that take it to a jeweller and they could use some jewellers rouge, it’s a polishing compound.
Thanks.

I’m hoping the polishing cloth will do it.

Have you removed scratches before?

Yes, it’s a go to for me for light hairline scratches. Anything worse I have used the rouge I mentioned, it’s a bit courser depending on the grade you get but it works a treat.

I got in to watches years ago and have practiced on some old beater watches to figure out how to do it properly, plus YouTube.
Many thanks.

I’m pretty sure it’s more of a scuff, not deep.

I’m hoping the Cape Cod will do the trick.

What are you waiting for? You said in your original post that you have some Cape Cod cloths on hand, and I keep coming back to this thread to see if they worked, but I guess you want to keep us all in suspense... 🤔
I’m not back at home until tomorrow.

I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes 👍.

I used a drop of silver metal polish on a cloth, came up new. I taped along the edge of the screen to protect it.
