I'm starting university in September (hopefully).

Hopefully I'll get the grades to get into Manchester University to study Physics with Astrophysics!

Just interested in what everyone else has done/does/is going to do!

Congratulations on starting university and I wish you luck with obtaining the necessary grades. Physics with Astrophysics sounds a wonderfully interesting course of study. You'll have a great time.

For my part, I did Law for a few years, realised I couldn't stand it, and switched to History and Politics; subsequently, I trod an academic career path, which meant I did post grad degrees in History and thus ended up teaching history and politics for quite a while (on and off for around 20 years) at a number of universities. I greatly enjoyed university as a student, and later, I loved teaching, so every so often I'm back at the educational coalface.

I am proud to say that I will soon be going to University to study the wonderful field of Astrophysics as well! :D

I read chemistry as an undergraduate, that was 4 years. Now doing a law conversion so I can be a solicitor. Being a student is great fun, but I've had enough now I've finished my 5th year, can't wait to start working in the spring!

A couple of my best friends studied physics, it's an interesting and impressive subject that will look great on your CV.

CS. Does anybody happen to know how hard it is for international students to get into Stanford / Harvard / MIT?

Ooo very nice! Are you studying in the UK?

Joint Honours degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.

and that sounds really interesting! I bet the whole artificial intelligence thing is amazing. The closest thing I have to that is my MacBook :D

I started Nursing my freshman year. This upcoming Fall I will begin my sophomore year and I am switching my major to Business. I either want to do finance, management, or marketing. I am really not sure yet. Medical field just is not right for me.

Going into the second half of my second year in Software Engineering.

It'll be the first time since high school that I haven't had any of my close friends in any of my classes. Two of them are doing Robotics Engineering, one's doing Civil Engineering, and the other's doing Computing and Digital Media. Aww, making new friends is too hard...

My undergraduate degree is in Politics and some Law - I just graduated with a first recently. I am now doing a Law masters. :)

University of Toronto
Hons. BA w/distinction (Classical Civilization - Roman, and Southeast Asian Religions)
Working toward a Masters in History - Holocaust & Genocide Studies

That would keep me awake at night. I studied genocide very briefly from a theoretical perspective and that was bad enough.

I start college this year for Computer Science, doing a combined four year bachelors/masters degree. Got to love AP credit :D

Good choice of University. I graduated from Manchester in 2006. BSc(hons) Computer Science.

Do you live in Manchester already, or are you moving here from elsewhere? If you are new to the area I'm sure I can recommend you some places to go.

As an undergraduate I began with a major of "Engineering - Undecided," then switched to Aerospace Engineering. I switched to Mechanical Engineering with about a year to go. It didn't cost me any classes.

As a graduate I got an MBA, then an MS in Information Systems. Those were both my goals from the outset, I never changed majors - although when I began the MBA program I didn't immediately know I would go for the MS as well.

Just got my AAS in Information Technology and am starting a BA in Communications.
