I have applied and been accepted to two, Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago (I did my undergraduate work at Moody), and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.

I still have a little time to decide which one I will attend.

Sounds good. Best wishes. Enjoy Greek and Hebrew, that's a good time right there. :D

I just finished 3 years of my BSc with a double major in Biology & Psychology. Applied and accepted to Pharmacy school, starting year 1 of 4 this September.

Still in school after 30+ years

Started in electrical engineering (32 yrs ago)
Switched to mathematics, then switched to history, business admin came next, followed by computer science, before finally dropping out 23 years ago.

Started to go to school part time 4 years ago & will finish up in 2 years in Info Technology & History -- double major, with a concentration in the history of technology (about 7 classes to go -- mostly upper level special topics courses remaining)

Going back to school as an older adult has some advantages (free tuition because I work for a university helps also). I already have a career, and don't need to worry about finding a job. I can take my time, pick and choose classes that fit my schedule and interests.

I'm from Leeds, so I don't really know the area at all! I know where the Apple Store is, that's all! ^.^

Any places you'd recommend going?

Also, my friend's going Computer Science this year at Newcastle. Looks really interesting!

Are you going to be living in halls? If so, which area are you looking at? When I first moved here I lived in Fallowfield then moved a bit closer to the University in my final year. I much preferred it living in Fallowfield though, there are a lot of nice student places nearby and there are a lot of events in the local parks. As you move towards the university the area gets a bit shady - a bit of a gang problem in the surrounding areas in particular.

What sort of stuff do you like to do? How about bars and restaurants, what sort of places do you prefer (music preference for clubs)?

I think that if I could afford it I would like to go back to university and study something just for fun. Here in the UK you can do some post grad courses from the Open University for a couple of thousand per year.

I don't know how it works in the UK, but in the states it is pretty typical to allow university employees (and their children) to attend tuition free. That is one of the main reasons I took the job, hopefully I will graduate before my daughter....

I applied to Lambert Hall, Fairfield Hall and Weston Hall. They're all near the campus, which is the main thing I'm looking for.

I'm not much of a party goer, so I'm not too fussed about been close to the clubs and stuff!

They all had a small bar in the halls, which is just right for me... low key! I'm into alternative bands, so I'll go to gigs and stuff in the city centre every few weeks I expect! But as I said, I'm not really into clubbing :D

Do you have any recommendations of places to go? :D
