I got my original iPhone on launch day and we went to the movies. I pulled it out to play with and kids two rows back where ZOMG he has an iPhone!!!11!. I figured out real quick to be more discrete.

I was so glad when the iPod Touch came out and even more so the 3G. Now they seem pretty common.

i got mine on launch day and i went on a cruise with my family 2 days later. when i was using it on the boat i heard people whispering around me hes got an iphone. i thought it was very funny.

one person that worked on the cruise ship found out i had one and tracked me down to see it.

Mine was from my girlfriend who didn't know I was getting one but was there when I got the package in the mail. "You got an iPhone! Your a jerk!" haha, all said very lovingly though.
