First time I waited outside a store for an hour or two to buy things on Black Friday and paid for everything (well, almost everything) myself. I usually come somewhere in the middle of the day and had my mom pay for things.

So, here's the breakdown...

Went to CompUSA an hour before opening. Forgot my scarf and hat so my ears were freezing. Went inside, and people were all over the hard drives. Pushing and shoving all over with boxes of hard drives getting knocked over. I grabbed a 200 GB Seagate box and charged through like a running back. Found the "Famous Maker" LCD (Samsung), and quickly grabbed that. Found the $18 Intellimouse Wireless and grabbed that. And finally, grabbed a 280 CD binder. Spent nearly $500 at CompUSA. My sister had a long search and fight to get her Palm Z22 which took most of the time. Luckily I found a really short line nobody knew about that got us out quicker.

It was 2 AM when we left. Passed by Best Buy to see the line already forming! People really wanted those $400 laptops, I guess... My mom and I rushed back at 3 AM. I was prepared this time, so I didn't freeze too badly. Once we got in, I grabbed Call of Duty 2 for a friend. I went and found the copy of 24 Season 2 I hid behind the whole shelf of Desperate Housewives DVD's (look, I only saw one copy on Wednesday, and there was a minimum of 10 at each store)! I easily found Seasons 1 and 3 of 24. Grabbed Chappelle Show Season 2. Then, we went back to the car to go home. Took me only 8 minutes after the doors opened. Unfortunately, I maxed out my debit card earlier because the midnight CompUSA sale and Best Buy are sorta on the same day... :) My mom took care of it with her credit card though.

I blew $600, but I will get about $200 in rebates and I saved a bundle on the price cuts alone. It was worth the trouble. That initial rush when you're coming in is sorta fun.

OMG! Where do you live?

1. A 1.0gig SD card.
2. Linksys WRT 54G Router (My old router was crapping out).
3. Logitech MX1000 Mouse.
4. A spindle of DVD+R disks.
All for moi.

I got a set of aluminum Creature II speakers that I've been considering since my birthday in October, as the price cut (33% off) was too good to pass up. And considering I'm Canadian and we don't even celebrate Black Friday (although I wish we did - it makes so much more sense that Boxing Day, the shopping day after the day you get loads of gifts) I'm pretty happy with my use of the holiday.

envision 19"LCD-$180
cannon printer-$50 with $50 rebate...
plantronics bluetooth headset... $10
The Devils Advocate DVD- $2.99
3.0mp no name camera- $37
digital thermomitor-$0.99
DVD player with all the good features- $14.99
7" portable DVD player- $67

all at frys woodland hills
got there at midnight with my cousin, set up my hookahs, made my coffee, ate food, drank stuff... almost beat someone for that headset (reg price $59.99).

Well, I ordered something on Amazon.com which was supposed to be DELIVERED today, but instead it just prepared for shipping instead of being an open order today, if that counts...

I wanted today to be a big American Eagle/Gap/Old Navy day, along with the Best Buy/CompUSA combo and finish it off with the mall with the Apple store to get a car FM player for the iPod, but nope: parents hate shopping with long lines, so I just hung out all day.

Pfff, my friend told me he got a huge HDTV and another person told me she got a new computer.

:( :(

Lots of clothes... mostly for the kids though. I was forced into buying a new house jacket for the winter though. True, the old one - 7 years old now and lived in 3 countries - is threadbare... but I liked it. Oh well, the new one is a spitting image.

Damn was it cold today! -5C

YOJ

I picked up my license from the DMV at noon, took my girlfriend to the mall where I bought some pj's from old navy and a dress shirt and tie for formal at sears. Black Friday wasn't so bad here this year. I actually got a good space in the parking garage.

Went to the Trumbull Mall in Connecticut at noon (missed the 5am - 12 pm sale. Oh well...) Bought:

1) a pair of Sketchers for myself (looks like balling ball shoes)
2) two Fisher Price toys (for Eevee and her friend Seth. Kay Bees had a buy one get one free on all Fisher toys).

Afterwards, went to see the Harry Potter's new movie at North Haven. But didn't understand it since I didn't read the book yet...:(

Could you let us know how those speakers are? I'm considering buying them to complement my book. I found them listed at Amazon.com for a good price.

1) A nano silicon case ($19)
2) New shoes ($60, down from $80)
3) 50 pack of DVDs for ($14.99)

That's all... Nothing too big really caught my eye this year.

I bought a "#3 chicken strips combo, six-pack, value size it, sweet tea no lemon" at Chick-Fil-A.

I LOVE Chick-Fil-A. So good!!!

I didn't buy any actual stuff today, but I did go to the stores and just look around. By the time I got there pretty much everything was gone.

Did you notice that they are closed on Sunday's so that their families can enjoy a day off with them?

Will do. Yeah, I saw them at Amazon.com for $69, but the Amazon.ca has no such discount. I read really good things about them from all of the reviews on the Apple store though, and I tried out a black pair at the Toronto Apple store when I was in there the other week and was impressed with the look and sound (although it's so loud in there it can be hard to tell). Hopefully the aluminum matches that on my iMac stand.

Arrgghhh. I broke down last night and bought a double cd from the iTunes music store!! Should have stayed away from that evil place!! :D

No discounts whatsoever!!

I don't wait for a holiday to buy something, I usually buy one significant item per month. ;) :)

If you can afford it and require it, then why not. :D

That being said its almost the end of November and I have bought nothing significant.

I bought a couple of goodies, but returned one item one day after

I had extrememac's airplay connector for iPod, a mighty mouse, and a beautiful 23-inch HD monitor (this one is with student discount).
Unfortunately, the monitor turned out a little bit dissappointed. When I used dark background or screen saver, or watched widescreen DVD disk, I observed uneven backlight at the upper right area and lower left area. These two spots are brighter than the other parts. It's made in Sept of 2005. Too bad that I thought the 23-inch monitor issue was related to last year's lots, but it seems it still exists in 2005.
In the end, I returned it and got a 20-inch instead, no problem at all.
Apple should definitely work on this issue.

Saw the Best Buy ad and noticed that they had the first three seasons of "The shield" for 19.99 each (normally 35-45 each) . I already had 1 and 2. On a whim I went to BB after dinner (9 PM) to see if they had any left. I got the last one of season 3.
