I upgraded from my iBook G4 to MacBook Core 2 Duo because I needed the HD space and my battery sucked. I won't upgrade my MacBook until there is a major revision after my AppleCare runs out next summer. I might not even upgrade then because it still runs great, I might look into an iMac though.

I pushed carts in the Texas heat all summer to earn enough for my MBP. Worth every drop of sweat.

I told myself if I got through college, I'd get a new Mac. Originally, it was going to be an iMac, but I got a new desktop PC this year. I know, I know. It's an HP and a good machine.

But I am just a few weeks away from completing my studies and I thought I should use the student discount one last time. But I wasn't sure. But then Apple offered a free iPod Touch....and a free printer....and then the MBP with the cheaper price tag and I jumped on it.

Yea, so in summary: my MacBook Pro is my reward to myself for working at a crappy job while going to school full time for the last 5 years.

I deserved my upgrade to a macbook pro after my macbook harddrive crashed and I lost a part of my Masters thesis that I had been working on for weeks. At least there was a bright side to the story then :)

I deserve this MacBook Pro because I just got a new job and a raise.

Plus, my computer since 2005 has been a Dell Inspiron with 512 MB RAM and a 30 GB hard drive.

I deserve a change.

I deserved this 15" Macbook Pro because I have never had a laptop and always used the family PC. I worked my ass off in high school to graduate in the top 5% of my class and get a scholarship to a prestigious private college. And I do not give my parents any trouble at all. It's the least they could do since I basically have no life. Oh wait, I just forgot. I bought this with the money this Chinese lady gave me who works with my dad. And I still have leftovers. But I still deserve it, so I am rewarding myself. Hard Work pays off. Don't forget it. Just like those people who worked in the Texas heat and in the -20 degree weather in Chicago.

You so deserved an upgrade! A 30GB hard drive SUCKS. My iPod has that much lol.

Eh, I don't I guess. After using Windows in its various iterations for 11 years, I wanted something different. But I compensated by buying old and used instead of new. ;)

Well in that case I double-deserve mine :D
Dell Inspiron, bought Jan 2002, 512MB (upgraded from 256), 20 GB HD
It does have a 1400x1050 screen though, and has been solid as a rock.
Now downgraded to Saturday night duties :p

I wanted a mac for agessss used to always go on the apple site and just stare in jealousy. After a while i forced my self to believe i would never get one anytime soon but i was allowed get a whitebook for my birthday.

Just thought I would start a thread and see how people have rationalized getting a new Mac. It's supposed to be more of a joke then a serious thread (For those of you out there who will probably mis-interpret it)

I am going to (in 2 weeks when I get my Mac) donate blood. Now I need an opnion. Should I donate blood to the Red Cross (My regular way) or to Children's Hospital where I work?

I deserved my Mac Pro, because I joined the Army, the second half of my re-enlistment bonus paid for it. :)

I'm getting mine because my White Macbook was just stolen from my apartment. So I need a new computer and I'm definitely not getting a PC.

I quit and sold off all my "hobbies" Like collecting Books, Postcards, Maps, Sports Items etc. over the last year so I will deserve the 17" Matte MBP when I decide to buy it later this year.

And my wife can't do or say a darn thing about it!

My previous laptop was a Dell Inspiron 8600 which I bought my last year at Pace, sort of a graduation present to myself. Right when I decided I could not longer afford Stanford, there was a great deal on all Macs.

So, to help me get over having to leave, I bought my MBP. Plus, I got a great deal and my Inspiron was getting dated.

Hmmmm... after my wife toasted our black Macbook with a glass of water I decided it was time to pass along my aging G5 and buy myself a brand new iMac.

At least now if she spills anything on the keyboard it won't destroy the whole computer.

Perfectly logical, I think.
