When you got your new iPhone 4, what did you do with your 3G, 3Gs or original iPhone?

I don't plan on selling mine so I'm looking for some suggestions on how to put my retired iPhone to good use.

Sell 'em whats the point? I sold all of mine for $300 each don't need more crap to hang on to.

But if you must keep them put one in each bathroom as an internet device while occupied! :apple:

^ If I could get a couple hundred bucks for mine, that would be great but it's already 2 generations old. It's a 3G. Also, don't you have to pay to get it SIM unlocked? Leaving it locked to Rogers would mean limiting selling it only in Canada to Rogers customers.

Unless you have a need for it, not selling it is only reasonable if you're pretty flooded with paper...I sold my 3G for $300 the 23rd of June this year.

-HTPC remote control.
-Attach it to the wall and let it automate your house.

etc

Why wouldnt you sell it?

I often see Rogers locked iPhones go for $270 or so on eBay.

You can also easily jailbreak it at jailbreakme.com then unlock it to use it on any GSM network.

I only have 1 iphone, a 2G that i used for two years. Never upgraded to another model. I retired it and bought a Galaxy S Android phone (Vibrant)

1. Leave it in your car as an iPod.
2. Take it to your lake house and use it out there.
3. Use it as an alarm clock by your bed.
4. Cut a slot in your fridge door, and place it there, like the new fridges.
5. Leave it plugged into your TV as a netflix receiver.

Just a few things that popped into my head.

You don't put your iPhone to use, you just put it back into its original box (if you still have it hopefully), and let it sit for a while, open it up in 15 years, examine it in all its glory, show it to your kids, tell them a story about it, put it back into its box, give it to one of your kids before you die, tell them to take good care of it as it will be considered history (at least the first generation iPhone), your kids will put it in their basement, open it up a few times, then they will show it to their kids and then one day little Jack will drop it and that'll be the end of it.

Yes I am in fact, bored

LMAO! I love this idea. You'll show it to your grandkids and they'd be like "look at that piece of crap" like we do for the original old huge ass phones.

2 options:
1) If you need some money, sell it.
2) If you don't need money, keep it, never hurts to have a spare phone in case something happens.

I'd probably sell it though

My 3G went swimming, so I sold it, as is, fairly cheap to a friend, who wanted to try and fix it for himself.
He was successful.
