My wife needed a new computer since her iMac G4's was getting more than a bit old -

so I bought her a new aluminum MacBook,
a 24" ACD to dock to (and to watch her Colin Firth films on)
a set of Logitech Z-2300 speakers
a WD 1 TB external drive for Time Machine backups, iTunes library, etc.

P.S. You all know what these things look like, so I didn't add pictures

P.P.S. TigerDirect has the Z-2300 on sale for $99 until 12/28 if anyone else is interested

The gifts given never seem to be as good as the gifts received. ;)

Santa gave my three kids an iMac, to share. Plus my son got a Nano and an iHome IP99 clock radio. My one daughter got a Nintendo DS ,games, and accessories. My other daughter got assorted Leapfrog items, a razor scooter, and a kids digital camera..............

Received - sweater from my dad, $100 clothing gift card from my sister. G/f didn't put any thought into anything except running away, she wanted to just take me to the mall and buy me something, but I veto'd that. I don't want 'stuff' or 'hey, buy me this!'. All I wanted was for us to be together as usual, but she wouldn't do that.

Gave -
Dad: New Eclipse car stereo, installed in his Volvo.

Sister & family: 2 cool chairs for her son's new apartment in January.

Best friend & family: Framed portrait of his kids that I took; wine; chocolate; homemade bread.

G/f: Tahitian cultured 'black' pearl earrings that she's been wanting, to match the pendant I gave her 3 years ago; Parrot bluetooth kit to install in her new car; some cool organic soap; Mag light that she was wanting, to keep in her car; certain calendars that are my traditional 'every year' gift for her; chocolate.

Self: Snowboard/bindings/boots, but I'm not sure I'm that into it and may eBay it soon and just go back to skiing.

Mom - renewed subscription to Real Simple
Dad - Univ. of TN pj pants
Sister - some lush bath bombs
Best friend - the same best friend calendar I got her last year (hey she requested it!)
Thinking of getting a set of wine glasses for another good friend (we've been drinking wine out of care bear glasses)

Myself - a Masters degree ;)

Did the full day at a spa thing for the wife. She was pretty happy about it, as I expected. :)

Your family was trying to send you a message.

Which would be Jeff, cover your ugly butt.

I gave $2000 to a family who just lost their father four days ago, he left behind a wife and 3 daughters. I also put together a huge food basket for them.

...

For my mom:

Paid a bill.

Made her dinner yesterday.

Brought dinner home from favorite veg restaurant last Friday (after she got not so good news from eye doctor.)

Bought her a gift card to same restaurant whenever she wants to go.

Did every last chore over the past 5 days.

Tried not to run out of the room when she watched a violent nature show (I hate seeing animals die in the wild.)

Sister:

gift card toward new juice cleanse and instant scratch off game

Brother-in-law:

Hand crank radio just in case.

Sister & Brother-in-law:

Replaced their Monopoly and another game that was lost during Sandy (Sis wanted these replaced.)

Other sister does not celebrate Christmas. She thinks Birthdays are much more important, so I respected her wish.

Just wishing my friends and others a very good holiday.

Gift giving is normally done on the 5th December by Sint Nicholaas, here in the Netherlands.

We do have Christmas meals of course.

I’ve just got back from helping serve dinner to 250 people who are homeless this Christmas in the City where I live.

Man, this is some of the best things about Christmas. Helping others. Kudos to you.
