I love how everyone is assuming that by 'naming' it, the OP means like a pronoun that refers to the iPhone, and NOT what iTunes prompts you to do. Mine is just my full name's iPhone.

I do really like the Titanic name though. You could use some other words that fit with the whole "syncing/sinking" play on words. Perhaps "Your battleship" so it would read "Syncing 'your battleship'..."

Yeah, i'm not too great with names.. I also name my pc's to the CPU or model if it's branded: My media center is called "DC7700p", my i7 sys is simply named "i7", my HP Compaq notebook is named "6910p", my Lenovo "X61", etc.

Come to think of it, only my Mac is using the name Apple suggested.. "Dieter's Mac", time to change that to MBP13 to match the rest.
