Because adding tron and 2000 to the end of just about anything makes it futuristic. Havin a ham sandwich? Hell no you aren't, this is the future. You're having hamtron 2000! My Kindle is clearly from the future, therefore it is called Readtron 2000.

I name my laptops, desktops, phones and cars.

My current laptop is Triskadek, my current iPhone is Gregory, my iPod Nano is YoSaffBrig and my car is Abby.

There's nothing odd about it. I don't make you name YOUR stuff. THAT would be weird.
