isn't it funny... i just guessed that there might be something cool at private.apple.com you'd think apple would have taken it down by bow if it had any importance

I find this to be interesting. On the secure login page for vendors it lists Intel, of all companies.

the link is to factory test results. Maybe t hat is why it is updated. It could be recent and there may be another link to it from another more recent page. Also if you click on intel it is the only one that does not require a password, although there is nothing there.

found this link

http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/0005/26.appleqa.shtml

another cool link to show what os the site's server runs on
http://www.netcraft.com/survey/developers/apple.html

pretty cool. if you dig around for a minute you can actually find phone numbers and email addresses of the engineers. could people to "shake down" for a good rumor or two;)

Something makes me think of CHRP...common hardware reference platform. Could Apple have been testing it all along and we don't know anything about it? Perhaps they've tested it and decided to wait until we all can comfortably live as Mac OS X on Intel. Remember, Apple could be testing dozens of designs and not one ever comes to market. Remember the Apple Design Group?

Boot your Mac into single-user mode ([option]-[apple]-). You will find that you are using a CHRP machine.

Intel is most likely on there because of the abandoned Rhapsody x86 project that was taken up in that era.

WHY THE HELL WAS THIS MOVED HERE!!!

The whole site is based on Apple hardware... so whats it doing in this forum!!!

PUT IT BACK IN HARDWARE!!!

Cool it Paolo. The site hasn't been updated in years and we can't get any real current rumors from it. It should be in Apple, inc or General Mac Discussion.

lol it says right on it last updated January of 1999... and it still took you guys like 10 posts to figure out how old it is? lol

Under the Yosemite prototype document:

5. The cycle time on board's primary and secondary side is not balanced. Imbalance cycle time in double sided board decreases through-put, consequently, it can/may effect the assembly cost in manufacturing depending on the equipment line setup.

Not to be fixed

Those bastards! I bought that computer! I knew there was a secret conspiracy to limit my throughput!

Spies...Everywhere!

Man thats a weird web page

Since the site has been pulled and it would be a shame to let this piece of Apple nostalgia fade into the nether:

hey

you know i was looking @ all the OS's that apples sites run on, bsd is ok, linux is ok, mac os and os X is gr8, solaris is ok, then there are unknowns which are probably a port of darwin running apache, but 2 things stink, they don't run apple.com itself on os X server, they use linux, and then they have like 5 sites running of win2000 servers, and it lists their bsd OS as being from microsloth, that is evil

Woo, I love these sites.
They are a look into the past. But altas, I will ask my apple insider friend if he can get access to it and fish out the guts of the apple. :)
Well I'll check.
