How about just the Apple iPhone? I think that, if and when it is released, it will get more coverage that a VoIP phone from Cisco, and i think we shouldnt change what we call it. If you wanna talk about the Cisco one, say that thats what it is.

But this could cause a bit of a dillemma in some places...

iPod Mobile and iChat Mobile roll off the tongue nicely.

Sure, but I think both are kind of bad names.
iPod Mobile - The iPod is just as mobile as the iPod Mobile would be.
iChat Mobile - This would really only make sense if iChat was given some sort of phone integration, to allow you to call people on their phone lines.

It's a whole new product line.

It's not an iPod. It has iPod functionality.
So having an i infront of the name isn't really necessary.
It's not a mac. It's a hand held device.

I don't think it'll be any of these names.

I have a feeling it'll be something totally different and will be a new brand name in the apple world.

There's already a product called iVoice. Its an iPod speaker similar to the Bose Sound Dock.

As for the Apple phone I kind of like iMobile.

It will take on the iPod brand or the Mac brand, none of the others like iCell (no one in europe calls it a cellphone, over here it is a mobile) or iCall, iTell will have a chance.

iCorder [/startrek]

i am sick and tired of the whole iAnything naming convention personally. they should just call it the apple phone.

but they will call it the iPod Phone
