I was just wondering what you guys do with your dock (i.e. where is it, how big is it, do you have it on auto hide, magnification, do you even use it). I looked around and wasn't sure which section to put this in, it is purely out of curiosity. If it is supposed to be somewhere else let me know. Oh and as for me, I usually have my dock showing in the bottom, but i use quicksilver so i don't really need it... does any one know how to completely disable the dock?

My husband is an M.D. What I do with my "doc" is none of yer business.😉

That said, my dock demurely hides on the left side, unmagnified.

mine lives at the bottom of the screen. Occasionally I click on it, othertimes I smile sweetly at it.

(Programs launch faster if I click though....)

Left side, since my screen is much wider than tall.
Only a few icons needed, since I use Quicksilver a lot.
No hiding, no magnification, fairly small footprint.

My dock pretty much stays in my pond where the boat is tied to it, 😀
Oh, my OS X dock. On the bottom, never hidden, with mag on. It looks good there.

I find vertical space much more valuable than horizontal, so I put my dock on the left---small, unhidden, and unmagnified.

Bottom. Slight magnification. Not hiding.

Bottom of screen. I have it set to full magnification when I select something, and nearly as small as possible otherwise.

My dock sits at the bottom of my screen, no magnification. Damn straight I use it. I'd be lost finding half the stuff I have on it if it wasn't on there, haha, I haven't had a Mac at home before and haven't used one for school/work in years.

I don't like to brag but I have a huge dock. I keep it on the right side and it only comes out for special occasions.

Dude do what you think looks right personally I like bottom with magnification it helps you know what you are about to click on

After a year of just having it on the bottom, I've finally switched to autohide on the bottom, and I love the extra screen space. Works especially well with Quicksilver, since you don't need to access the dock as often.

And magnification is always fun.

I've got mine on the bottom, not hidden, with a little bit of magnification. I'm very particular about my dock and if I have to use a computer that's not configured like that it just feels wrong for some reason.
