The rumoured rugged watch will be interesting. Not sure it’s for me but it sounds like a good option for consideration.

The reported design change from last year could be the frame of the rugged watch, with some sort of bumper around it to protect it, as with some other rugged sports watches. Just a thought.

S7 got a re-design, so S8 will stay the same, spec bumps yes, battery life from 18 to 20 hrs maybe.
Improved health sensors but no new ones except body temp maybe. Samsun offers blood pressure so Apple has to catch up but I doubt they will add that. Glucose monitoring ain’t happening as it would make the watch a medical device.
“Rugged” version - doubt it, market is too small

if not rugged what do you think happened to the square design leaks? Real and delayed or a prototype that was canned

The big question I have is; should I get the S7 now or wait for S8? All I really want from S8 is a design change to a more flat and square design...

New health sensors - mah. Battery life - nice, but not a deal breaker. Faster chip - who cares...

FOr me it is all down to design. New design and I will wait. Same design and I will get it now.

It’s a coin flip

The rumor mill hasn’t been churning for a re design but they could always surprise us

The rumor mill was churning hard last year and nothing came of it

I think that the skinny bezels is a pretty decent design change though, undervalued

I’m gonna say no but who knows

If it's not a must have, just wait. Let say the S8 is a redesign, and you don't like it, you can still get the SE or a discounted S7 form resellers.

Yeah but s7 were pretty cheap recently

329 for a 41mm
267 for an excellent open box
Less like 247 and below for a gamble of an open box

That seems pretty low to me for the latest and greatest now

SE hasn’t really dipped a ton since s6 or s7 yet it’s the same product. S6 still commands a decent price too

wouldn't we see leaks, in most likelihood if re design was happening this year?

I don’t know. I haven’t been paying attention to the iPhone and Apple Watch leaks since the 12 series. I haven’t felt the need to upgrade until now so I’m holding out reading the rumors and waiting for Apple to confirm it at the keynote this fall.

Do we think Space Grey and Silver will return or is Midnight and Silverlight the default aluminum colours?

Regarding new watchOS, I’m waiting for a major redesign of Fitness app.
The colors of activity rings never match my clothes, in fact it’s hard to imagine how one would have to be dressed, if they did.

What’s the point of splurging on bands if I can’t share a pic of my workout, because, well, the thing just looks ugly. Am I the only one?

Greyscale mode doesn’t let me enjoy my watchface, so it doesn’t solve the problem.

Your post is a joke isn’t it?

I expect a major shift in 'smartwatch' paradigm with series 8. The new S8 will redefine how we all use our watches, and it will be the first step towards the mainstream adoption of apple watch.

Nah, it will probably be a minor spec bump and keep us wanting more for next year's S9.

Mainstream adoption? ?

If they do not come out with a more square and flat option, something a bit more rugged, I am done with Apple Watch. I absolutely hate the soft corners and the thick "bubble up" glass. The Apple Watch hasn't really changed look the last years, and if what all the pundits promised last year had happened, I would have been on that like white on rice.

The new Prosser vid seems to suggest a flat screen so maybe last years leaks are the S8 after all.
