I find it funny that just because I own an iPhone, that I am instantly considered a "fanboy".

First of all, the iPhone is the only Apple product I have ever bought. I own two PC's, not Mac. I have also went from an iPhone 3g, then 3gs to three different Android phones and hated all of them. The last one was a Droid.

I came back to iPhone 4 because I missed the iPhone. I love how fast and easy it is to swipe from one screen to another on the iPhone. I love how quick and easy it is to use Safari on iPhone, and how it zooms in and out with ease. I did not have that simplicity on Android phones. There zoom feature was buggy, and it took forever for a web page to load. Even on wifi.

I also hated the fact that Android app store sucked big time. Their game selection was lacking. They did not even have basic games such as Monopoly and Scrabble which I love to play on iPhone.

So if I am considered a "fanboy" because the iPhone just works, then oh well. I guess I'm a fangirl then lol!

"Fanboy" is a label given by non-Apple supporter/lovers or Apple-haters whenever Apple decides to do something and that person doesn't agree over that decision. When the fanboy justifies why Apple decided to do so in order to explain - regardless if s/he agrees or not with Apple's decisions - than s/he get labeled.

Wrong

I used an iPhone for two years and liked a lot and still do but it isnt the only good phone/device out there. Its all about whats suits you best but some here cant get over that notion.
Im on my first Android which is a Vibrant and it works much like an iPhone in some aspects like pinch zoom and smotth scrolling with way more customizations but yes, it lacks in game choices in the Market but they will come. Other Apps i liked with Apple work just as good as they did with the iPhone. I may get another iPhone some day but im not going to AT&T or Verizon to get it and Android is improving a lot right now.

I'm just an Apple customer. I own a MacBook Pro 13", and an iPhone 3GS. I've had the iPod touch 1st and 2nd gen, iPhone 3G, and Original iPhone, and other Apple things. However I still have things that I hate about Apple. For example iPad. It has 256MB of RAM. And thats pathetic for a tablet computer. My Original iPhone, iPhone 3G, all iPod touches, and now my iPhone 3GS get slower with a new update. My 3GS was blazing fast on iOS 3. Now its a little slower (not much) on iOS 4. My Original iPhone was blazing fast on iOS 1, a little slower on iOS 2, and ****** slow on iOS 3. It took 8 seconds to load music in the iPod app. 5 seconds to open the Messages.app.

So the iPad is a tablet computer, NOT A PHONE. So if I bought an ipad, I wouldn't be upgrading every 2 years. But because some apps have difficulty running on iPad, just wait for iOS 4 for iPad. iPad will be a little slower. iOS 5 will really slow iPad down. Now my $829 tablet computer is a POS after 2 years.

But some folks say, well its amazing that ir runs so well with 256MB RAM. Thats now. What about the future? I'm not getting a new iPad after 2 years. Thats why I call them a fanboy. Its pathetic that Apple didn't give it 512MB or 1GB RAM to future proof it, but then again, the fanboys will buy the 2nd gen iPad anyways.

I'm not an Apple hater or an Apple Fanboy. I'm just an Apple cutomer, and I love some, but not all of their products.

I like fanboys. I probably am one.
There's nothing wrong with taking an interest in something no matter how bizarre and random it might appear. I like many Apple products, and sometimes I buy them if they seem useful to me. I am a geek for gadgetry and technology. I think Apple is typically far ahead of the curve in design and accessibility. I believe their approach is lightyears ahead of everyone else and it's only because they're designing exclusively for the users rather then the developers and I agree with that strategy.

I also like Apple as a company, I find their story and philosophy fascinating. They've a history filled with lovable characters and detestable betrayals. Epic failures and triumphant returns... I think to a lot of us, the Apple universe is like the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or Disney universes. Good guys and bad guys, success in the face of adversity. It's high drama and it's all playing out in front of us, right now! It's exciting!

Yeah, some fanboys are preachy, stubborn and outspoken... but I think you'll find that most are just people who enjoy what they enjoy and are happy not pushing their opinions on others, even though they might love a good debate... point is, if you have problems with people because of what they like or the type of purchases they make or what they spend their time with... well, you can suck it.

*cups mouth and makes that one noise that sounds like a crowd of people going wild.

I don't like fanboys who are: 1)stuck-up, spoiled, and/or rich 2)blind to one specific product, platform, brand 3)don't know anything about what they are fanboys to. It's hard to have a conversation with fanboy who are blind to reality.

Fanboys ... it's fun to see someone excited about what they prefer and use.

Be it computers, cars, guns, etc. I find it interesting.

Then again, I don't have to read any thread that I don't want to. :)

What do I have against them not personally they're probably good people:D
let me give you an example what I see on this forum from "fan boys"
Antenna issue - get over it already
Changed the itunes icon - have you read the threads; over 1000 posts on several threads, really now. its an icon
Again this is my opinion

Anyone using that line needs to grow up, including yourself.

Each time I saw the Cool Story line, it was for a poster who posted a blog. That let me know right there to move along.

True dat. At least fanboys are capable of putting together a sentence. "Cool story, bro" is pretty much the red flag that the poster is an idiot.

I disagree, it is usually the thread starter.

Cool story bro is getting on my nerves. At least you can have a good heated flame war with the fanboys. J/k :D

Poor point. You get annoyed at Cool Story but like flame wars?

i agee, can't stand those "cool story / fail" posts even if what they're commenting on is lame. just might as well not comment and make the post fade to oblivion instead of bumping it up again.

The lack of no "cool story bro" will not prevent that. Especially if it is a slow day on MR.

The above two post is why people post the undesired line. Too much non essesntial information.

You must be bored to be reviving this thread. :)

Fanboys are a necessary evil to having a successful company. I just ignore them, when they start talking nonsense.

I think this thread has run its course now.

And by the way, "Cool story bro" posts are considered useless posts here, and are routinely deleted. We don't see them all ourselves, so please feel free to report them.
