Where's the option for......Nothing?. Honestly, if santa rosa tempts me REALLY well then...maybe. Otherwise im not bothered bout Leopard/iLife/iPhone. I havent used Tiger to its full capabilities nor iLife so why upgrade. Also my Treo is all the iPhone i need for now.

I'll buy the iPhone if it's available with 2-yr. contract for $300 or less.

There's a chance I'll buy the iTV but I'd need to see more details. I have no need to stream video from my Mac to my TV, so the only feature I'd be intrigued by is any PVR functionality.


Other things I'm waiting on though: a price drop in the Mac minis. They really need to go back to the $499 price point for the entry level mini (not to mention a $999 price point for entry-level MacBook). In fact, I would prefer they keep the entry level at Core Duo but offer it for $499.

What I hope to buy is different from what I'm likely to buy.

I'm likely to buy Leopard, and I'll wait for a few months to see how iTV works out.

I hope to buy the next MBP (Santa Rosa) generation, but with a decent and perfectly usable Intel iMac at home I'm unlikely to persuade my wife that it's a good idea.

But I'm feeling left behind at work and I want to fit it a bit more. I've recently seen an increasing number of my co-workers with Macs - on the way to the lobby I pass five offices with 12 occupants and one has an iMac and four have MBPs (including our CTO, who's on record as saying that all the developers deserve Macs - unfortunately the VP of engineering hates them and won't sign off on requisitioning them without the additional signatures of two managers and a director) - this despite the fact that our IT dept does not (their emphasis) support Macs and we are a software company that codes for Linux servers.

But even if this doesn't happen, I'm still buying a 20" iMac in January.
