Yeah, it has a lot of extensions which a lot of people value highly. Personally, I don't miss the extensions in either Safari or SeaMonkey. Firefox to me just feels "heavy" and non-agile, and has a Windows look to it.

I agree with you completely - these are the same reasons why I don't use it as my main browser.

I really like the extensions that are available for Firefox, but there's little consistency from extension to extension so the interaction changes slightly with each one - which results in a clunky, incoherent feel. Mostly, I have small apps that can do the job just as well and aren't there when I don't need them.

I love the extensions and themes support in Firefox, but I have one question: I can totally understand why some themes should be platform-specific. However, I don't understand why some extensions are platform-specific.

I'm also a fan of the transparency in development Firefox practices (though you can't really fault the WebKit team either in this respect). I do wish the developer information was more centralized, though, and easier to locate.

If I could request one change be made to Firefox 4, this is what I'd request: A choice of 2 default themes, one that blends in with the host platform, and one that looks roughly the same across platforms.

This little box here is what keeps me on FireFox...

I love the Wikipedia, Google, ebay, Amazon, etc.

If only I could figure out how to get MRoogle in there. :(

I like Firefox because it's a product that's stimulated the browser market and killed off Microsoft's monopoly on browsers - at least on the PC.

Otherwise, I would probably use Firefox but I have a lot of RSS Feeds and Firefox freezes at launch when updating them.

I would use Camino in a heart beat if it weren't for a couple of things:
  • Lack of smooth scrolling
  • Score of 73/100 on Acid3 Test
  • No tracemonkey (Gmail / google Maps is not very smooth)

Other than that, I'm fine with using the extensions for it.

If you want a more OS X look and feel try using Aronnax's themes although they're missing favicons and the UI feels slow with it.

Lately, I can't stand Safari. I would absolutely love to use Camino if I could get smooth scrolling and knew that it had Tracemonkey coming to it.

Hi,
you can add nearly everywhere favicons ... to take a quick look at the GrApple theme customizing page http://www.takebacktheweb.org/CaE.html

And the default theme is as well only a theme .. a third part theme is not faster or slower than the default .. and these for sure as well.

Cheers

[*]awesome bar far superior than anything out in the market now in helping me reach the website, it save more time than you imagine

Superior than Opera's URL bar. I personally don't see it. It is practically the same.

[*]automatic update, with user consent, there are 85% of firefox users are using latest version thus getting protected against latest security threat. Less than 53% of safari users is using latest safari, and only 23% of opera users are up to date.

Opera 10 is coming with autoupdate but yes it has been lacking before.

Firefox uses less memory than any other browser out there, especially for longer period of browsing.

Er you have made this claim before but just as before it is not especially true. It really depends on a lot of factors but to simply make a blanket statement that Firefox is better than all browsers out there is wrong. Firstly in my experience it uses about the same as Opera, sometimes better, sometimes worse.

A lot of those items you described are present in Opera and debuted there.

Firefox is a very good browser and lots of people like it, it is just personally not for me.
