aleksandra., your post makes perfect sense. After asking the same question about warranty for may be hundred times I've got a clear answer from them. Yes, only if I pay that tax, they will support me. And that tax is 44% of item price :D Now I get why their prices are 1,5-2 times larger than on Apple.com. So after all I decided to spend that money on buying a kick-ass desktop. When in 9 months I leave for the USA, I'll handle this PC to my younger sister. She is going to be a designer so I guess she'll find use for its power. And in the USA I'll buy an MBP and will enjoy my life. :) So when you guys start "Waiting for Nehalem" thread, count me in :D:D
And about Acer or other laptops....I just decided that I can live this year without a laptop. I have my new EEE PC and it's a totally awesome toy. So I'll somehow endure this :)

Ain't a BMB!
Seriously, just pulled the trigger on a "refurb" BMB. Put Coconut Battery program on it, reports the age as being 1 week, brand spankin new 2.4 BMB w/ a 250GB HDD (and Firewire) for $1099. WHY buy ACER????;)
You know, thinking back, when I first put the same program on my 2.2 BMB "refurb" it put it's age at 2 months, but I already had it 5 weeks, so when I got it it was only 3 weeks old. Refurbs have to be the best kept secret ever:rolleyes:

Mother bought me a Acer Laptop for birthday present 20 months ago. No problems with the hardware. Just the cr@p OS that was on it. Thankfully I already had a legit copy of XP Pro so that wasn't really an issue.

Don't know what you guys wee doing to make them over heat, but I ran Seti@home 24/7 on it for 18 months and no troubles with temps what so ever.

If your looking for something cheapish, they are the way to go.

People moaning about them being cheap OEM part, what the hall do you think Apple has been using since the switch to Intel.

THOSE SAME CHEAP OEM PARTS.

.

We bought a Acer (with windows vista home), Vista lagged in every single task, so we decided to update the memory from 1gb-4gb (3gb) but did not fix the trouble and finally we installed XP and since then it's running flawlessly.
