it just turned to 500,000,000+

;)

Yup, the counter just ticked over.

I have a hunch though the song was actually sold some time ago, the counter was just a regular increment, and the rush of people to get the prizes probably accelerated the "buy rate" a lot faster than that counter.

Just Waiting for my call from Steve Jobs now...

I tried to be ironic and pick a ColdPlay song - 'Trouble'.....think I took too long picking it, because it had turned to 500,000,000+ when I re-checked the Mac site :(

I wonder why they haven.t posted the winner on the website yet.

Maybe Steve's guys in the States are trying to work if he can let me win, what with coming from Guernsey and having to use my postcode in lower case to create the account....

Darn! I keep getting new emails, and I'm thinking "YEEeess! This is the one". But no, it's just an email from Macrumors that someone has posted to this thread! Boooh! ;)

Don't get your hopes up with this one either, then... ;)

I was waiting, watching the counter, ready to buy a song at the appropriate time. The counter was at 499,988,XXX and I thought, ok I've got about 5 more minutes. I check it 3 min later and it already says 500K+. I was pretty upset. How did they go so fast?

It would be nice if we got some iBook and Powerbook updates on Tuesday, but right now I just want to know who the winner is and what song they downloaded...

Actually, now that you mention it, the same thing happened to me. I think the counter "jumped" near the end and caught a lot of people unaware!

Yay, now that that wait is over, please now Apple, just please I beg you, please please please release an iBook update tommorow or on Tuesday, its been nine months now, PLEEEEAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Noooo! That is unfair!

I think I downloaded the 499,847,001st song though :)

I should have just tried to win one the iPod mini's at the 100,000 mark. It would have been easier, but I don't want an iPod mini, I want a 60GB iPod!

Is it me or it just reached 500,000,000?

I think it's you. Last I checked it was still on 4,599,912,100....

On a separate note, I had wondered if anyone filled a basket with about 1,000 songs and bought them all in a batch - anyone think it would've worked?

Ah well - I didn't happen to have a spare £790.00 & I doubted that e-baying even a special set of 10 iPod Photos would've been worth the effort or investment...

Umm, where are you guys getting your info? Apple's website counter turned over like 20 minutes ago! The iTMS counter has been way off since the beggining. Its not just you, its at 500,000,000+

Well, if it was a *sure* thing, it woulda been worth it. But gambling the money that the counter is even remotely accurate would not have been worth it IMO.

Sorry about the 'Jedi' mind-trick there - I was only messing around. Yes, it has surpassed the 500,000,000+ boundary...

I think Jobs is having trouble with the +44 1481 dialling code...

Quite right. Makes you wonder if ol' "DVD John" had a pop at sneaking in through the back door and snagging the last song...or some other weird hacky gimmicky trick skullduggery...

I believe that the whole world will erupt into a firey ball. If you don't see it yet, wait a few minutes... ;)

Let's see if all the fanatical iBook update wanters were right...
