What do you think the iPhone 6 will be called?

The iPad nano

If it gets a new design (and it most likely will), then it will be the iPhone 5. Won't be 6 because that would just confuse people. For it to be called the 6 (to follow that logic), the current model would have been called the 5.

iPhone 5 I'd say. If they skip ahead to iPhone 6, then many in the general public will be left wondering where the iPhone 5 went.

iPhone 5. I don't think the number has to tell the exact generation of iPhone. Would be too confusing. Maybe they would do iPhone 4G but I doubt it... (if it is LTE)

lets see, iPhone
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 4S
...
iPhone 5 = logical

or

iPhone 6 = Fail

So "3G" and "3GS" are a numbers now? There is no numerical pattern here - "3G" isn't related to a number sequence at all, and even it if was, they skipped 2. There's nothing logical about 5 following a made-up pattern.

Here's a hint - there's only been one iPhone named after a number. It was the iPhone 4. It was also the 4th iPhone model. iPhone 4. Fourth iPhone. See what they did there?

So, if they were going to name the sixth iPhone model after a number, which number would be most logical?

My guess is iPhone Air, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

I think they should rename it to:

The iPhone

I mean, think about it, in 20 years, will people be lining up for the iPhone 24GS?

Thats just... retarded.

*most* of Apple's products have ALWAYS kept their original names... Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, iPod, iMac.....

Minus - iPhone, iPad, Apple TV...

I really think they should just go back to iPhone.

Afterall, every phone is always " the most amazing iPhone yet".

I think it's already called the iPhone 4s.

1. iPhone
2. iPhone 2g

3. iPhone 3G
4. iPhone 3Gs
5. iPhone 4
6. iPhone 4s

Don't forget they updated the original iPhone shortly after the initial release. :)

So it's possible it will be called the iPhone 5.

Wrong wrong wrong.

There was an iphone before the 2G? wtf

Easy - 5

In reality there have probably been hundreds of iPhones if you count the different testing models, mockups, and different versions to get the final ones we have - hey why not count them too?

Who cares what number it is in the series, it can be the iPhone 2012 for all I care

Don't forget they updated the original iPhone shortly after the initial release. :)

The only thing they updated with the original iPhone shortly after release was release a 16GB model and drop the price $200 and everybody complained about the latter.

I think the main problem is that they forgot to make an iPhone 2.

Iphone 3g and 3gs have the same form factor.

Iphone 4 and 4s also have the same form factor.

Therefore the next logical step should be an iPhone 5 and then 5s both having the new form factor.

iPhone 1 was just iPhone right? makes sense
iPhone 2 was named iPhone 3G... which confused people
iPhone 3 was named iPhone 3GS.. ok not so bad
iPhone 4 was named iPhone 4.. makes sense
iPhone 5 was named iPhone 4s... err not very smart. I mean it's not a huge upgrade to the 4 so I guess you could still consider it there 4... but what are they going to call the next one?

iPhone 5 wouldn't make sense at ALL since it's the 6th iphone and iPhone 6 would make sense but people would be like "what happened to iphone 5?"
It should be the iPhone 6, but it depends on how are going to call it in the rumours. If every rumour is talking about an 'iPhone 5', Apple will call it the iPhone 5. People will already be familiar with that name.

If there's going to be LTE support, they will probably call it the "iPhone 4G". That would be a bit confusing, but people will accept it. Otherwise it's going to be the iPhone 5. Small chance it will be iPhone 6 (unless we are going to call it the iPhone 6 in the rumours).

apple is a trick , no one know what gotta call , like 4s now , before it release all was guessing 5 and posting alot sample design ,somehow apple keep a same design , so all know now apple is a trick , no one know what gotta like

It probably depends on a major feature of the phone. But if I had to take a guess... iPhone HD, the new revolutionary 4.3" screen. Lol.

The iPhone 6.

6th generation iPhone != iPhone 6.

iPhone 5 was named iPhone 4s... err not very smart. I mean it's not a huge upgrade to the 4 so I guess you could still consider it there 4...
"Not very smart"? It's an incremental improvement to the prior model, just as the 3Gs was to the 3G. Makes perfect sense.

Again the 5th generation iPhone != iPhone 5.

Apple is not a trick. They just design items and there are very few leaks about their designs. They have yet to announce the next generation of iPhones, but I bet they are working on both the next design, and ideas for the following design now - they cant just throw a design together in a few months like Androuid phones do, as it's not in Apples nature to do that.

The designs posted on the net never came from Apple, they were from Case manufacturers, leaks from some of the part manufacturers and a few poor fuzzy images of items that did not look like iPhone 4's.

I think it's already called the iPhone 4s.

1. iPhone
2. iPhone 2g
3. iPhone 3G
4. iPhone 3Gs
5. iPhone 4
6. iPhone 4s

Don't forget they updated the original iPhone shortly after the initial release. :)

So it's possible it will be called the iPhone 5.

iPhone 2g? Where are you pulling this from? The iPhone 2g IS iPhone.
