It's getting to where how much more can you really do. I don't get as excited as I used too at iPhone launches.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard this said about computers and similar devices over the last few decades.

As far as the 7 goes? Who cares? It's two years away.

lol, I don't know what it is, but I always crack up with photos like these...

Apple MAY rework the internals and reinforce the 6S but by no means a new form factor (that will just admit to the world they were wrong).

I predict that Apple may experiment in other high tech materials (Carbon, polycarbonate) and boast about how LIGHT the phone is. Not saying they'll discard aluminum altogether, but it may be used minimally.

I just hope it is a significant update. I'm on the cycle where I get the new phone generation (not the s model) when it comes out. I've missed out on the 4s and 5s, the 5s was a big update with the thumb print scanner and M7 processor and I feel that other than a screen size and form factor change, the 6 is not that different than the 5s.

The 5s was a huge update, made me really jealous. Same with the 4s over the 4 with Siri.

I expect the 7 to be somewhat revolutionary. Rather than a small improvement over the 6s in terms of speed and camera specs etc. If not, I'll hold on to this 6 until the 7s comes out.

The iPhone 7 will not be any thinner ... I think that's a good bet to place! Hahaa

Seriously, that probably is true, but I hope Apple would re-evaluate any attempt to slenderize the next iPhone.

Even if Apple could make it thinner, I'd rather have the current thickeness (or even that of the iPhone 5/5S if it meant having a bigger battery that could get me through the entire day.

There just comes a point when making something thinner, just for the sake of it, stars hurting your customers. And I think we've found that point with iPhone 6/Plus thickness.

Shell made of carbon just like high end roadbikes. This material is very sturdy.

Some kind of clever solar power built-in the screen so that the phone recharges while being used outdoor.

Not that I don't agree, but people already said that with the 5/5S. Now everybody is praising how great it feels in hand.

First of all, I think this phone will be released next year, in 2015. It has perviously been speculated that Apple dislikes it's 'S' branding as people do not see it as an entirely new handset. However, releasing an iPhone 7 next year would fix this.

I think Apple will stay with a fairly similar design, keeping aluminium: Although, yes, I understand people have been complaining about this due to the recent 'BendGate' issues, what people don't understand is that it is not the metal causing the phone to bend. It is a particularly week spot where a titanium reinforcement ends. Apple loves making Aluminium mobile devices, and I cant see that changing.

The screen size will likely be the same as the 6 and 6 Plus. 4.7 and 5.5 inches. That is unless Apple reduces the bezels.

Apple could pull off something revolutionary, however. Removing thee bottom and somehow implementing Touch ID in the display. Whilst doing this I could see them also reducing the top bezel and increasing the screen sizes to something like: 5.0 and 4.7".

Other than that, I think the main specs of the phone will be a followed:
  • Vastly improved camera. With optics fairly similar to the current generation, the major change would be it's resolution. Potentially, I could see Apple upping the resolution to 16-20MP. Other features could include the ability to record at 360FPS slow-mo and 4K video.
  • An improved FaceTIme camrea with ability to record at 1080p and take higher reolution photos (3-4MP).
  • A new, faster A9/10. With a 14nm design, the chip would be more power-efficent and potentially have a much higher clock speed. I would imagine, however, Apple sticks with it's dual-core design.
  • 2/3GB of RAM. It is already rumored that Apple's next generation iPad Air may feature 2GB of RAM. I would expect Apple to follow it's move with the iPhone 6S/7.
  • Inductive charging. The implementation of this in the Apple Watch is a major indication that this feature will come to the next generation iPhones.
  • iOS 9/10. Potentially some major design changes and futher expandability.

As we are already seeing new iPhone rumors (the A9 chip). I think this next generation iPhone will be something amazing and, due to the latest bad press, will have to be.

If Apple can 'wow' the public, much like they did in 2007, once more, the iPhone 7 will be a major success.
