What I would like...

- An increase in ram
- 32/64/128 or 32/128/256 storage options
- Multiple colors
- A much increased battery life
- A complete redesign, less bevel
- Home button incorporated into screen
- Improved speakers
- Antenna incorporated into unibody, not visible

What we'll get..

- A slightly improved camera lens
- The same amount of ram
- 32/64/128 storage
- Improved speakers
- A slightly quicker, A10 processor
- A complete redesign
- No headphone jack (headphones either wireless or via lightning)
- A random new software feature that no one will use
- Improved Siri (Siri+?)
- Waterproof to some degree
- Stronger glass
- A slightly improved battery

I think we'll be happy. I'll be surprised if Apple don't introduce 32GB as base storage.

All i have to add is Tim Cook should be looking at what Best Buy posted about the new iPhone sales at their last Decembers Christmas. Many just said there was not enough real good advances in the 6s to trade up.
And they plan to wait and see what is coming next.
Apple better be looking at Samsung and LG phones, they have been moving faster with advances then Apple has.

I don't think Apple can win me over no matter what they do with iPhone 7, because I want/need things that they just won't provide. I want a microSD slot, water- and especially dirtproofing, 3.5mm jack which is apparently about to leave us, 7+ hour screen time. I don't want thinness, premium price for a 16 GB model and wireless earbuds. I love how TouchID works and from phones I had a chance to play with none gets remotely close. I liked very much how sync worked with iPhone 5. There are things I like about Xperia specifically, about Android, about iOS as I remember it. There was a time I thought I'd never switch to Android. So I am never saying never. Give me an entry model with 64 GB, water and dustproof and with on-screen widgets and watch me switch back to iOS. Won't happen, but dreaming is free.

Actually, ALL of those things will very very likely be on iPhone soon (save for home screen widgets).
But, as long as you don't consider the effort of pulling down the notification windowshade to access widgets too Herculean... I think there's a chance you could be swayed back in the near future! :)

An all-new design that includes reduced bezels, no headphone jack, hidden antenna lines and no protruding camera.

I saw on youtube, the company Youma is making a screen made of plastic and wont break when you drop your cell phone. It is really neat the technology they are coming out with. You can bend it in half and not break it. Assume!!!

I have had this discussion at work with several co-workers. Given that you now have to buy your phone without being subsidized, and the build quality seems really good. None of us who are even iPhone 6 (6 Plus) owners feel the need to upgrade our phones until we really need to. So far my 6 Plus does what I need it to and works well. If there is no compelling reason for me to upgrade to the iPhone 7 Plus, I may not. It really does depend on how much the new OS slows my phone down, if it remains serviceable which I suspect it may, I may skip this year.

Samsung owners had a real laughing festival over that one. Yet not long afterwards they made a Phone bigger than the iPhone. Funny how the jokes disappeared at that point. Suddenly they turned into "bigger is better."

They were already making bigger phones than the iphone. The point that video made is the fact how Apple implemented the bigger screen. Then simply made it longer.

Actually there's a LOT of people bashing Android phones on Android Central, in particular Samsung ones. (I'm one of them. I have a massive grudge against Samsung. Maybe I'll forgive them when they're bankrupt. MAYBE.)

It is possible to like a piece of technology but see its shortcomings.

I don't understand the grudges against Samsung. The S6 range were quality phones. I think people claim to hate them because they see them as a threat.

It will have a new design but not radically different from the 6s.
The screen resolution will go up in the 4.7inch iphone.
The front and back camera will be upgraded.
Cpu/gpu will have minor upgrade
Force touch will be upgraded.
It'll have no headphone jack.
It'll have no sim card.
It'll be waterproof (sim card and headphone jack removed so it'll be easier)
2 speaker stereo sound (yay!)
Battery will be improved
Still have the home button with fingerprint sensor but improved.

Name a feature the iPhone had first.
An unmistakably accurate touch ID sensor. A viable touch screen phone with full internet and iTunes integration.

Need I go on?

That is a very good list! Certainly very possible.

Simple answer: There isn't one.

I don't tend to hate on apple, I actually use an iPhone myself. But there isn't any other way to put it, the iPhone 7 is basically a huge setback.

There is basically confirmed reports that Its going to remove the headphone jack. Two words: BAD. IDEA.

Im sure lots of customers are either not going to upgrade, or their going to switch to android.

Thats basically what the next iPhone is going to offer.

Minor redesign, thinner, lighter. They'll tout a few other features that'll ultimately be useless.

That'll be it.

The main selling point for iPhone will always be the fact that it runs iOS and not the horrible mess that is Android.

Android really isn't a 'horrible mess'. Really.

I really hope they implement a feature where you can 3D Touch the screen while the phone is sleeping to wake it up. I know it may sound like a battery waster, but I'm sure they could implement it into one of their low energy chips or something like the Hey Siri always on feature.

That would basically be one of the last pieces to the puzzle of removing the home button entirely (except implementing Touch ID into the screen)

I'm sure something like that can be done. On my nexus 4, I could install an app that let me double tap the screen to turn it on.

Edit: I just found out this double tap to wake feature works on all amoled/oled screen Android devices.

Oh ye of little faith.

iTunes integration? A positive? Ha!

Did Apple invent the touchscreen? Did Apple invent the fingerprint sensor?
How quickly we forget what 2007 was like.

Let me remind you. iPod ruled the music industry. People bought songs by the boatload on iTunes. iPhone was the first mobile phone (excluding the Motorola Rokr) to be able to play all those song people bought for their iPods.

And no, Apple didn't invent the touch screen, but they were the first to market to release a touchscreen phone with a great browser, great entertainment options through iTunes, and solid phone interface complete with multitouch controls.
