i am with my 3.5 year old son all day and i find him to be the least relaxing thing i've ever encountered. :p when he goes to bed i am all about the candles, incense, wine and books, it's my favorite time of the day.

I'm having to come to grips with the fact that Nathan will soon be too old to put up with snuggling with his Daddy on the couch. I'm enjoying it as much as I can, while it lasts. I will miss those moments when they no longer happen. :(

Cry- Talking a true cry-fest: cry till your face is puffy, hiccups have come and gone,

I know what you mean EXACTLY! I had a good cry the other day. I felt so much better.

Mine:
  • practice violin or viola
  • read the business section of the newspaper
  • browse MR
  • hot shower... like so hot my feet turn red. I love it!
  • make cookie dough (and don't bake it. ;))
  • sleep
  • lay down in the back yard
  • drive around, if I can get the car
  • starbucks. Mmmm.

Coming from the UK, that's pretty funny.

:p

I know! It just struck me that the only 2 places you'd find someone using the phrase 'gourmet food' would either be on a council estate somewhere, when someone's rough ma dishes up the chicken kievs at christmas...:D

Or america. And you don't get too many macs on council estates.

It made me laugh when the french president slated our food over here when the olympic bids were going through, and everyone was up in arms. I agreed with him completely. Give me good, regional French food over British anyday.

Step one: Trip to the gym for a workout, half an hour in the steamroom and a nice long shower.

If Step One™ fails, a hot bath at home.

If the Hot Bath at Home™ fails, a bottle of Merlot™ is opened.

If the glass of Merlot™ fails, a Vicodin or a Xanax are added.

Usually, I plug in my headphones and work on pictures, though. The above steps are usually when I'm about to climb my aprtment building and start firing my rifle at random, innocent™ people. :D

Well iBlue, your first post is my way of relaxing. (Of course, I add a little somethin' somethin' to that...) Sometimes I meditate as well. Lately I've developed an odd habit of converting my music to flute music. (i.e.-I'll listen to, say 'Ride the Lightning' from Metallica-then I'll pick out the lead guitar and play it on my flute and jot down the notes on paper. I'll then do that for each instrument in the song, put 'em all together and make a cheesy sounding flute version.) Doing this is super relaxing for me, and some of the songs I've done have actually come out sounding good enough to play when I'm chillin'. Bet none of you do that to relax:D

i swear i did do a search, that thread didn't come up but even if it had, like you said, it just doesn't count. ;)

open my window on a windy day and listen to psychedelic-type rock
lie on the floor and turn my subwoofer all the way up with some bass-heavy music
if i'm kinda sad ill watch a comedy show on tv (futurama, south park, etc.)
process images i've taken but not really looked at
take a nap on the couch
INTERNET
go for a walk
the "m" word

oh yeah, that reminds me (meant to post this after mentioning it in another thread) there's always this... click NUMBER 5 and use your imagination.
Slightly off topic - but that whole first season is on iTMS.

But I suspect you're more in a mood to listen to the songs than to watch the show right now....

Oh...BTW... what do you eat after you... relax? You must be getting hungry. ;)

i'm sure i have no idea what you're talking about, but i am eating tiramisu and chocolate chip cookies. food is paramount to relaxation.

i didn't know that was in iTMS, i watched it on Showtime on demand recently. i love on demand. TV might be next, for now i am enjoying the new speakers. a friend of ours is ridiculously into sound equipment and loaned up Bose speakers to use indefinitely for my iMac.

Hee hee! Yeah... you have no idea what I'm talking about, Miss Tiramisu and cookies. ;)

It is pretty much the best thing the cable companies have ever done. Ever.

Not to knock Bose... they're decent, and great for free, but most ridiculously-into-sound people hate 'em.

Of course, maybe they sound better when you're... relaxed. ;)

hey, i had a light dinner.

i couldn't agree more, i use it all the time... as someone who simply cannot hold any free space on my DVR, i am always looking at my recordings thinking "what can i live without in here?" i'm a DVR packrat. the On demand things are perfect for me, and all the premium channel series' are chronological.

i think that's why they're here. he has a bunch of stuff, these were the most compact and i expressed interest so here they are. :) i like them. i think he got them off ebay for $40 or something, he is sneaky like that.
