If this was about understanding the enemy, I would think they would have had iPad 2s, MacBook Airs, and ATVs on launch day, at least long before now. Plus her and her husband bought the items. What does her husband care about competing with Apple. He doesn't work for HTC.

For sure, even people who sell Chevy's like to drive Mercedes themselves ... this is no different.

Might be a single-core processor, but its 1.5ghz, which is hypothetically faster than a 1ghz dual-core. Secondly, 2.3 isn't last years OS. It's this years OS for mobile phones, and will get an upgrade ~a month with 3.1 Honeycomb. They did this so it wouldn't provide a lackluster experience for the user.

Thirdly, the pen does not always create a screenshot of the screen when writing, but only when needed. IE: In Notes/Evernote or Books it actually interacts with the app. When in browser or anything else, it'll take a screenshot when writing. HOWEVER you DONT have to use your finger to navigate, as the back of the pen is capacitive, which interacts with the screen.

I know you want to feel good about your purchase, but in the end I think you're gonna feel sucker punched by HTC. Hypothetically, maybe you won't though. 😉

Weather animations? Whoo-hoo! See them once, and that's it. Novelty at it's finest.

Maybe on the Android (never used one), but I use Weather HD all day...it really is nothing more than an interactive screen saver for the iPad.

Much more realistic than that YouTube video of the Android widget and I can easily slide between cities I want to know about. Awesome app worth every penny paid for it.

I think most people are missing the point here. She's the co-founder of HTC. She's RICH and she likes gadgets. She probably has more tablets than I have T-shirts

Steve Wozniak keeps like 3 or 4 phones in his pockets most of the time, only one of which is an iPhone. Why? Because he loves playing around with all sorts of electronic/gadget tech

If you are a true tech-fan, then the politics of not buying a device from company A because they compete with company B just doesn't exist.

I am an android fan. Would I buy an iphone? I might consider it if they got rid of iTunes, but the first thing I would do is jailbreak the hell out of it.

The real problem with buying anything made by Apple these days is being lumped in with the fan-boys, hipsters, spoiled kids and soccer moms who don't really know or care anything about technology... but like being 'cool' and won't shut up about Apple.
