In the messages app if you hard-press on the contact circle you get a list of shortcuts to phone message, FaceTime or email them.

Yes, which is a lot easier than going into their name, which horribly confuses me with all the icons and FaceTime video/audio icons, too.. Oy..

Peek, there, makes my life a lot easier!

I'm not understanding this. I have tried pressing down a letter on my keyboard and positively nothing happens. Can you explain further please?
First off, I'm assuming you have the 6S. When you press on the keyboard, you should see the keys on the keyboard all "gray-out" and then you can move the cursor around.

I see your sig recommending Switchgads, but the site looks like a copy and paste of Swappa.com?

Is it the same company/owner?

Cheers!

In Calendar, while in List view or in Regular view, you can peek and pop all your events to get better details.

I really like this one !

It's more like a rrrreal heavy press, and it's inconsistent. I cannot perform it at will like I can with peeking and popping elsewhere. Seeing a video would be good.

It is a bit tricky to get the hang of, but it doesn't take a harder press than any other action. Press on the keyboard and don't lift your finger, when it greys out you can stop pressing (don't lift your finger) and now you can move the cursor over what you want to select and press again to start the selection, when first word is selected you can stop pressing (don't lift your finger). Now move your finger to the end of what you want to select and then lift your finger.

After you practice for a while, you can do it consistently. If I get the time, I'll shoot a video.

You can do the same thing on an iPad with iOS 9 with two fingers. You touch once to move the cursor and tap twice to select.

I just peeked and popped into this thread.
Every time a sammysung owner PEEKS into these forums to tell me what a mistake I made getting an iPhone, I POP them one. :)

Scratches head, I have never once gone to sammysung forums to disparage their product usage choices. Maybe I'm missing out on a fun time?

I'm sure there are iPhone users that do the same.

And those people would be just as obnoxious. I just don't understand the motivation. Perhaps I'm not so petty as to have to validate my choices by knocking someone else's choice. Passing information is one thing, but the disparaging jibes, those I feel compelled to ridicule. Someone sh!ts on my lawn, I feel compelled to rub their faces in it.

I may check it out if I find the time, never had inclination to hang on sammysung forums, since have never owned one. I do remember conversation in grade school like, I like chocolate, that's dumb strawberry is better! No it's not, chocolate is best. You're stupid! No you are!

Works consistently for me and used it for the first time today naturally and man does it save time.

Push down on keyboard and drag across keyboard while letters are blanked to place cursor. Remove pressure on screen while your finger is still touching screen. Push down again on screen then drag just as you did to place cursor and this time it will select the text as you drag.

Once you start dragging to place cursor you can relieve pressure at that point but to be safe for explanatory/learning purposes do it as I explained. I hope you're testing on a blob of text.

Just realized you can hold down on a letter in the keyboard to place the cursor anywhere in the text. The letters on the keyboard blank out.
Thanks for the tip I love that feature it was always a pain to get your cursor where you wanted it. Now it is so easy
